Site Safety Rules
This can be done through reference to industry accident rates, need to prevent
accidents, legal requirements or as proof of everybody¶s commitment to
health and safety matters on site
Explain the site rules in relation to:

M The site safety rules given below are for the protection of everyone.

M They apply to all persons on every site, including visitors.

All personnel are required to wear a safety helmet, safety footwear and a
high visibility vest.
M The consumption of alcohol and drugs is prohibited.
M No person is to operate any mechanical plant or equipment unless they
have been trained and have been certificated as competent.
M Any mechanical plant or equipment found to be defective is not to be used.
M Ladders are only to be used as work platforms for tasks of short duration
and only if no alternative means of access is readily available. Ladders
must always be secured to a structure or securely µfooted¶ by another
person whilst in use.
M Visitors must read the general site rules and personal safety rules (issued at
ain Security ^ate)
M §earing of PPE is mandatory if visitors should go to site

M High Visibility Clothing
M Eye Protection
M Visitors must sign the visitors log book
M ake sure a record is kept in the accident book to prove any claim
you make
M Ensure inductees know what they are on site to do and are aware of the risk
assessments and method statements specific to their work
M Explain how the company can help ensure the work is done safely and
where permits to work will be required, e.g. confined spaces, digging, etc
M In future all fire extinguishers will be red with a coloured panel to show what
they contain.
