Cybercrime Prevention
Act of 2012 (R.A 10175)
I. Seat Belt Use Act of 1999 (R.A 8750)
 It is an act requiring the mandatory compliance
by motorists of private and public vehicles to
use seat belt devices, also requiring vehicle
manufactures to install seat belt devices in all
their manufactured vehicles.
 This policy is mandated to secure and
safeguard passengers and drivers both private
and public.
Terminilogies
 Motorists- the driver of a motor vehicle.
 Seat Belt Device- any strap, webbing or similar device in the
form of pelvic bind or chain or lap belt designed to secure a
person.
 Motor Vehicle- means private and public motor vehicle
 Front seat passengers- person on board a public utility vehicle
seated at the right side beside the driver for public utility
jeepneys (PUJ) and to passengers seated at the right side for
private motor vehicles.
Policies
 Operational motor vehicles which are not equipped
with seat belts are given (1) year for the issuance of
the IRR by the Land Transportation Office (LTO) to
retrofit seat belt devices in their vehicles.
 Infants and/or children with the age six (6) years and
below shall be prohibited to sit in front of any
running motor vehicle.
II. Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012
(R.A 10175)
It is a law approved on
September 12, 2012 that
aim to address legal
issues concerning online
interactions and the
internet.

 Cyber squatting:
-the practice of
registering names, especially
well-known company or brand
names, as Internet domains, in
the hope of reselling them at a
profit.

 Cybersex:
-sexual arousal using
computer technology,
especially by wearing virtual
reality equipment or by
exchanging messages with
another person via the
Internet.

 Child pornography:
-is a form of child sexual
exploitation. Federal law defines
child pornography as any visual
depiction of sexually explicit
conduct involving a minor
(persons less than 18 years old).
Images of child pornography are
also referred to as child sexual
abuse images.

Identity theft:
-the fraudulent
acquisition and use of a
person's private
identifying information,
usually for financial gain.

 Illegal Access of data:
-A person commits the
criminal offense of illegal
access to a computer system
when he or she accesses the
whole or any part of a
computer system without
right.

Libel:
-a published false
statement that is
damaging to a person's
reputation; a written
defamation.
