MARIAH CAREY - HERO
THE SCRIPT - SUPERHEROES
ANALYSIS OF “MARIAH CAREY – HERO”
"Hero" is a song by American singer and songwriter Mariah Carey. It was released on
October 19, 1993. The song's lyrics describe of the individual power that lies inside
every person, their ability to be their own hero.
During the production of Music Box, Carey was approached by Epic Records to write
and record a song and release it on the soundtrack to the 1992 film Hero intended
for fellow female singer, Gloria Estefan. But, she decided to keep it for herself. The
song experienced strong success in several international markets and regarded as one
of Carey's most inspirational and personal ballads
LYRICS ANALYSIS OF “MARIAH CAREY – HERO”
There's a hero if you look inside your heart
You don't have to be afraid of what you are.
There's an answer if you reach into your soul
and the sorrow that you know will melt away

Mariah calls it the “hero” because the hero in yourself is

just like the hero that you expect to come save you. They
carry hope to you and help you move on with your life.
LYRICS ANALYSIS OF “MARIAH CAREY – HERO”
And then a hero comes along
with the strength to carry on
and you cast your fears aside
and you know you can survive.

With your “hero” you will have the strength to move on and
eventually come to the end. Don’t be scared you can get
through hard times after all.
LYRICS ANALYSIS OF “MARIAH CAREY – HERO”
So, when you feel like hope is gone
look inside you and be strong
and you'll finally see the truth
that a hero lies in you.

You may feel hopeless sometimes. But, there is a hero in

everyone. You just have to search inside you, to find that
hero and just be strong. You can do it all by yourself.
LYRICS ANALYSIS OF “MARIAH CAREY – HERO”
It's a long road when you face the world alone,
No one reaches out a hand for you to hold.
You can find love if you search within yourself
and the emptiness you felt will disappear.

Life is like a long road that sometimes you have to travel on your own. But you
are not truly alone because you carry the love inside you. This gives you
enough hope to carry on when you do feel like there is no hand to hold on to. In
the end, we don’t need to feel emptinesson the long road if we realize that the
hope is with us.
LYRICS ANALYSIS OF “MARIAH CAREY – HERO”
Lord knows dreams are hard to follow,
But don't let anyone tear them away.
Hold on, there will be tomorrow,
In time you'll find the way

There will be bumps and problems in your life while pursuing

your dreams and happiness, but you should just take it one
step at a time and don’t give up. Knowing that there is a
tomorrow to look forward to is what is important.
ANALYSIS OF “THE SCRIPT – SUPERHEROES”
Yet another uplifting middle class anthem from The Script, “Superheroes”, the first
track lifted thus far from their fourth studio album, No Sound Without Silence, talks to
the “unsung heroes” of the world; the single mothers, parents and teachers in
struggling societies that give up their natural human selfishness to help the world tick.
In an interview with All Acess Music, the band said the following about this song:
“Superheroes” is about people who are struggling to deal with the circumstances they
are in, people who are the underdog. We get inspired by those people all the time
and this song is very much for them.”
LYRICS ANALYSIS OF “THE SCRIPT – SUPERHEROES”
They took away the prophet's
All her life, she has seen dream
Oh the meanest side of me For a profit on the street

Life has always been cruel to her Implies that someone has taken
advantages from her loss and her
sorrow
LYRICS ANALYSIS OF “THE SCRIPT – SUPERHEROES”

Now she's stronger than you All his life, he's been told
know
He'll be nothing when he's old
A heart of steel starts to grow

But through the ups and downs A boy was raised being told that he is
of life, she managed to tackle not good enough to do something big
every obstacle and learn a life and change his life
lesson that makes her who she
is today, a stronger woman
LYRICS ANALYSIS OF “THE SCRIPT – SUPERHEROES”
Because he's stronger than you
All the kicks and all the blows
know
He won't ever let it show
A heart of steel starts to grow

But through the ups and downs He wanted to prove them that he is
of life, she managed to tackle capable to do great things in life
every obstacle and learn a life
lesson that makes her who she
is today, a stronger woman
LYRICS ANALYSIS OF “THE SCRIPT – SUPERHEROES”
When you've been fighting for it all your life
You've been struggling to make things right
That’s a how a superhero learns to fly
(Every day, every hour, turn that pain into power)

When you are born and raised as a fighter, your path may not
always been so easy and smooth, but it was all worth it because
you appreciate the value of something you want to do or your
dreams more than if you got it for ‘free’. Every obstacle in life has
shape you to who you are today. Your true self is your biggest
amunities, your greatest power
LYRICS ANALYSIS OF “THE SCRIPT – SUPERHEROES”
All the hurt, all the lies
All the tears that they cry
When the moment is just right
You'll see fire in their eyes

We need to know that everyone has their own battle and mend
their own scars. Everyone is fighting for what they have and what
they want, therefore we should not mock other people journey
LYRICS ANALYSIS OF “THE SCRIPT – SUPERHEROES”
She's got lions in her heart, a fire in her soul
He's got a beast in his belly, but it's so hard to control
Cause they've taken too much hits take it blow by blow
Now light a match, stand back, watch them explode

She got the spirit to fight and he is ready to come back better than ever
even if some people looks down on them because they do not care
what people said about them.
Their energy to ‘strike back’ is so big, its ‘exploded’, meaning that they
kept all their sorrow to themself until its time to prove the haters wrong
