Motor: The motor is enclosed inside the machine. This is the part that
rotates the chuck at high speed.
Lathe Bed: The base of the machine. Usually a CNC is bolted down so
that it cannot move through the vibration of the machine when it is
working.
Cutting Tool: This is usually made from high quality steel and it is the part
that actually cuts the material to be shaped.
Chuck: This holds the material that is to be shaped. The material must be
placed in it very carefully so that when the CNC is working the material is
not thrown out at high speed.
Control Panel: The brain of the CNC machine, all the CNC program are
stored inside this panel, CNC machinists control the whole machine
through the keys on this panel. CNC operators start/stop the machine move
axis by pressing different keys on this panel.
Customer order : Ordering is step for gathering all the information.
Working schedule : work schedule is established after certain discussions.
Product Design: Auto CAD or Solid works
CAM
Raw Materials checking & storage: Raw materials bought from material
suppliers and stored in warehouse for usage.
Sawing : The materials are cut to size.
CNC Machining operations:
◦ Turning operations
◦ Drilling operations
◦ Milling operations
◦ CNC Grinding
Induction Hardening: Induction hardening is a type surface hardening in order
to increase the hardness and brittleness of the parts.
Blackening : The black oxide finish is some what effective in preventing rust.
Inspection and quality control: CMM plays an important role for QC part.
Packaging and delivery: To ensure delivery in good condition each and every
part is individually packaged.
Grinding is an abrasive machining process that uses a
grinding wheel as the cutting tool.
It can produces very fine finishes and very accurate
dimensions.
Induction hardening is a type of surface hardening in which a
metal part is induction heated and then quenched. The
quenched metal undergoes a martensitic transformation,
increasing the hardness and brittleness of the part.
Hot block oxide or blackening
Hot baths of sodium hydroxide, nitrates, and nitrites at 141 °C (286 °F) are
used to convert the surface of the material into magnetite (Fe3O4). Water
must be periodically added to the bath, with proper controls to prevent
a steam explosion.
Hot blackening involves dipping the part into various tanks. These tanks
contain, in order, water, alkaline cleaner, caustic soda at 140.5 °C (the
blackening compound), and finally the sealant(oil).
The caustic soda bonds chemically to the surface of the metal, creating
a porous base layer on the part. Oil is then applied to the heated part, which
seals it by "sinking" into the applied porous layer.
It was a wonderful learning experience for four weeks in
Ace Micromatics. From this Internship I got experience and
better understanding of our subjects by applying theoretical
concepts into practice.
The friendly welcome from all the employees is
appreciating, sharing their experience and giving their
peace of wisdom which, they have gained in long journey
of work.
I hope this experience will surely help me in my future and
also in shaping my career.
THANK YOU
