Concept of Management
 Resources- Limited
 Human wants- Unlimited
 All resources are to be managed by humans
 So, in order to satisfy them, all resources must be utilized
properly
 Thus, to manage all resources available in such a way that it
gives complete satisfaction to human beings is the theoretical
meaning of management.

Concept of Management
Basically, there are four concepts of management. They are:

• As an activity
• As a process
• As a group
• As a discipline

In modern economy there is no substitute for management. As


remarked by Peter F. Drucker,
“Management is the dynamic, life-giving element in every business.
Without it the resources of production remain resources and never
become production”.

Levels of Management
 Level of management is the hierarchy of the power & control
given to any management role of any individual in the
organisation.
 In other words, levels of Management is a term
referred to line of differentiation among various
administrative positions in a company.
There are 3 levels of management:
-Top level
- Middle level
- Lower level

Managerial Skills
The ability to make business decisions and lead
subordinates within a company.
Three most common skills include:
1) human skills- the ability to interact and motivate;
2) technical skills- the knowledge and proficiency in the
trade; and
3) conceptual skills- the ability to understand concepts,
develop ideas and implement strategies. Competencies
include communication ability, response behavior and
negotiation tactics.
