LACK OF TREES

Without trees, humans would not be able survive because the air would be unsuitable for
breathing. If anything, people would have to develop gas masks that filter the little oxygen that
would be left in the air. Why are trees so important? Trees are vital. As the biggest plants on
the planet, they give us oxygen, store carbon, stabilize the soil and give life to the world's
wildlife. Trees also help to reduce ozone levels in urban areas. Most importantly, trees
sequester carbon, helping to remove carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases from the air,
which cools the earth.

FACTS

• Malaysia had the world’s highest rate of trees loss

between 2000 and 2012, according to a new global
trees map developed in partnership with Google.

• Malaysia’s total trees loss during the period amounted

to 14.4 percent of its year 2000 trees cover. The loss
translates to 47,278 square kilometers (18,244
square miles), an area larger than Denmark.

In a nutshells, planting trees is able to solve high carbon
effects to the environment as the plants will produce oxygen
for human beings and a cleaner air. So , start planting more
trees for a better environment and our future.
