BORE WELL RESCUE

ROBOTS

INTRODUCTION
 Children often fall down in the bore well which have
been left uncovered and get trapped.
 The rescue of this trapped children is not only
difficult but also risky.
 A small delay in the rescue can cost the child his or
her life.
 To lift the child out the narrow confines of the bore
wells is also not very easy.
 Robot for bore well rescue offers a solution to these
kind of situations.
WHAT IS A RESCUE ROBOT?
 A rescue robot is a robot that has been
designed for the purpose of rescuing people.
 Common situation that employ rescue robots
are mining accidents ,urban disasters,
hostage situations and explosions.
 Rescue robots in development are being made
with abilities such as searching, mapping,
removing, medical treatment etc,.

controlling the robot
PROCEDURE
 The bore well rescue robot is designed to
provide the child with two level of safety
achieved by
 1.using robotic arms at the top and
 2.safety airbag at the bottom. This
arrangement ensures that the child does not
slip further deep during the rescue operation.
 The robot is operated through personal
computer according to the observations made
continuously using CCTV camera.
ROBOT CONTROL INTERFACE
 The robot control interface will send all commands to
the robot via TCP/IP socket messages passed over the
wireless network, where the primary control system
on the robot will interpret these messages and forward
them to their respective sub-system on the robot.
OBJECTIVES
 Manually monitoring the child with the help
of camera and controlling unit of robot.
 Communicating with the robot by sending
appropriate commands to it.
 Once the robot has reached proximity of child,
it is stopped immediately and is given the
commands by the controlling device to
perform the closing of the robotic arms.
 4.Oxygen supply is activated immediately to
overcome its scarcity and entire arrangement
is pulled up.
Result and Conclusion
 This type of rescue robots performs the rescuing
actions more precisely in very limited time.
 Usage of robotic arms ensures the rescuing action
in both conditions such as when the child has been
struck in between or at the bottom of the well.
 The inclusion of metallic plates has been proposed to
provide an additional support and ensure the
complete safety of the child.
 The robot is also capable of performing life saving
actions like supplying oxygen.
FURTHER ENCHANCEMENTS
 The metallic plates can be used below the safety
airbag in order to provide extra support to the child
from the bottom.
 A small vacuum unit with appropriate pressure
could be used to suck the mud particles that have
been accumulated over the baby and disturbing the
proper acquisition of the images.
 Sponge kind of soft material can be used at the
inner arms of the Robot, taking care that it will not
hurt the Baby while holding.
 A mesh structure can be designed in order to prevent
the falling of mud over the child.
