Manner adverbs and adjectives

These adverbs are called manner adverbs because they describe


the manner, or how an action is done.

1. He drives very fast.


2. My brother sings very badly.

The adjectives describe the people.


Adjectives come before a noun.

1. Carlos is a talented Singer.


2. Rosa is an outgoing girl.
When you use a verb that describes how you feel or describes
how something is, use an adjective not an adverb after the verb.

For instance:

- be - seem - taste
- get - appear
- look - smell

When I have to wait for a long time, I get mad.


For most adverbs we add: -ly
Adverbs that end in letter -y : -i + ly ( easy-easily)
For adverbs that end in letter –c: ally ( automatic-
automatically)

- To point out the positive side of a situation

- To talk about something good in a bad situation.

1. Susan is always late for classes but at least she says sorry.
