In this activity, you have to work again
with your partner. You will draw
images based from your teacher’s
posted word on the screen but your
partner will close his/her eyes to
avoid seeing the word because
he/she will guess the word from the
drawing that you have drawn.
She will keep on guessing until she
got the correct word.

plot includes:

- Exposition Statement - The part of the plot


that tells how the story begins.

- Rising Action - The action in the story


leading up to the climax.

- Conflict - Struggles or problems between


opposing forces.

- Climax - The point of crisis in the plot. It


may be the reader’s point of highest interest.

- Falling action - The action in the story after


the climax is revealed.

- Resolution - The part of the plot that reveals


the final outcome.

Now that we have
identified and defined
the elements of a short
story, let us use the
elements to analyze a
familiar fairytale.
• At this point, you will group yourself
into 6 groups. Each has its own part.
Every group will have one element of
the short story. Then, you will read
another story entitled “The Necklace”
by Guy de Maupassant. After reading
on it, you will carefully analyze the
given task and write the striking scene
for a story. After that, they will
report their simple work in front of
the class.
