Maturín summary
Source rock Querecual and San Antonio –
napthenic oil. La Pascua, Merecure,
Oficina parafinic oil. Not penetrated in
foreland!
Kitchen deep in north, active since Middle
Miocene. Must extend below Serranía del
Interior to explain volume of oil.
Is this sufficient or is there another
explanation?
Reservoir: Cretaceous, Palaeogene and Neogene
and sandstones, fractured Cretaceous
Limestones?
Where are the Eocene sands?
