Steven Paul jobs
• Born in February 24, 1955, in San Francisco.
• Adopted by Paul and Clara Jobs who live in Santa
Clara, California.
• Jobs and his father would work on with
electronics devices in his family garage.
• His interest grew more on electronic devices.
STEVE JOB AS A STUDENT
• Jobs was an intelligent and innovative thinker, his youth was riddled with
frustration over formal schooling.
• His fourth grade teacher needed to bribe him to study.
• Jobs is so bright student that the administrators wanted to skip him
ahead to high school - a proposal that his parents declined.
• Jobs was enrolled at homestead high school, where he introduced to his
future partner, Steve woznika.
• After high school, jobs enrolled at reed collge in Portland.
• Lacking direction, he dropped out of college after 6 months and spent the
next 18 months dropping in on creative classes at the school.
THE BEGINNING OF APPLE
• After spending time in India in 1974, finding spiritual enlightment, he
returned to America.
• Jobs convinced Wozniak to help him create a personal computer the
Apple I
• In 1976, when Jobs was just 21, he and Wozniak started Apple
Computer.
• . The duo started in the Jobs family garage, and funded their
entrepreneurial venture by Jobs selling his Volkswagen bus and
Wozniak selling his beloved scientific calculator.
• Jobs, with marketing help from a friend, had the vision of creating a
computer company that would make and sell pc’s

• After showing the Apple I in town computer stores, Jobs was able to
sell 25.

• Jobs and Woz sold the Apple I in 1976 for $666, making over
$776,000 from sales
• 1977, the two released the Apple II, a single board computer with
onboard ROM and a color video interfaceIn.
• From 1977 to 1983, Apple continued to grow exponentially.
APPLE VS IBM
• In 1981, IBM finally entered the personal computer
market, and in just two years began to outsell Apple.
• After the failure of the Apple III and Lisa, Jobs needed a
new computer that could compete with the IBM PC\
• However, the next several products from Apple suffered
significant design flaws, resulting in recalls and consumer
disappointment. IBM suddenly surpassed Apple in sales,
and Apple had to compete with an IBM/PC-dominated
business world.

• Jobs project in the late 1980’s to mid 90’s was NextStep
• A new computer company based on an object oriented software
platform, NeXT failed first as a hardware company, then as a
software company
• Apple similarly did very poorly in the early and mid 90’s, brought on
by poor leadership and stagnating computer design.
• The following year Jobs purchased an animation company from
George Lucas, which later became Pixar Animation Studios.
THE SECOND COMING OF STEVE JOBS
• Despite Pixar's success, NeXT, Inc. floundered in its attempts to sell
its specialized operating system to mainstream America.
• Apple eventually bought the company in 1996 for $429 million
• The following year, Jobs returned to his post as Apple's CEO.
PANCREATIC CANCER
• IN 2003 , JOBS DISCOVERED THAT HE HAD INCURABLE DISEASE OF
CANCER.
• Executives feared that shareholders would pull their stock if word
got out that their CEO was ill.
• In 2004, he had a successful surgery to remove the pancreatic
tumor.
