 What is the family means ?
Based on some definition about of family we can make the
conclusion that the family have some characteristic, they are :
• Family consist of two or more individuals that tied with blood relation, married,
or adoption.
• Family members use usually life together or if separate they still pay attention
each other.
• Family members have interaction each other and each person has social role :
husband, wife, children, brother and sister.
• Family has purpose :
• Create and keep culture
• Improve physical, psychological, and social growth.
 Why do we must have family ?

• Include instrumental (activities of daily living) and expressive (communication, problem
solving, roles, power, beliefs, alliances and coalitions)

• concits of : Identify data,history of growth and ,environment data,family structure,family
function,family coping

a.Orem Model
• Develop relation with family
 Determine the process to help patient with nurse intervention
 Explain,give and protect family directly use nurse methods
• Have to give integrity with daily life of that family

• Nurses must be ready in a dynamic dialogue thatis caused transcultural communication,
avoid language barriers use approach with patient

 One morning a patient named Derel azizah 20 years old,come to the hospital
with medical diagnose of post operative diabetes mellitus she has wound on
PREPARATION PHASE the left leg. Mrs. Derel had been treated for seven days and do the bandage
everyday in 9 hours and the next day nurse Nadya comes to the room.
Nurse : Good morning
Family : Good morning

INTRODUNTION PHASE Nurse : Excuse me, I’m nurse Nadya in this morning,I’ll check the
patient.Is it true that you are the family of the patient
Mrs.Derel azizah?
Family : Yes true, I am a mother of Mrs.Derel
Nurse : Ok,I will start to check.Have you ever heard that Mrs.Derel
IMPLEMENTATION make complaint to you about this disease ?
PHASE Family : Sometimes,she ask about uncomfort with the bandage
Nurse : Ok,if she ask it again you can help her to change position
or turn her attention to other things first

TERMINATION PHASE
Nurse : Based the check up Mrs derel vital sign is being
normal,the wound is being better.The check Is enough,if
there is something you can call me,I permit,Get well soon
