Online food delivery platforms are expanding choice and
convenience, allowing customers to order from a wide array of
restaurants with a single tap of their mobile phones.
Food delivery market in India worth over 12.5 billion, online food
delivery is contributing more than 7% to this market. More than
50,000 restaurants in India provides home delivery, indicates a very
high potential and untapped market in online food delivery space.
Greater awareness and disposable income along with deeper
Internet penetration, availability of more payment options, long
working hours and erratic lifestyle are contributing online food
ordering business. At the same time, with more and more people
wanting healthy food, or food similar to home cooked meals that
too easy on the pockets is leading to the rise of online food

• The study was designed to investigate the top leading
company out of the four companies selected for the analysis
and to evaluate the performance of these companies on the
basis of different parameters and different locations of tricity.
• To study the competitive analysis between food delivery
apps.
Research Methodology
Collection of data
The data is collected with the help of pre – tested questionnaires . The pre –
tested questionnaires is used to collected the primary data . To know the attitude
and perception of customer on using the different food delivery apps .
Sample size & sample techniques
Sample size – the total sample size was 226 respondents , out of which a major
portion of the age group 20 -25 years .
Sample techniques – The two techniques are used to collect the sample .
a. Random sampling b. convenience sampling
Questionnaires design : It was divided into three parts – a. Demographic
information b. consumption information c. Behavioral information .

The results obtained from data collected through with the help of the respondents ( people) present in the different
shopping mall of tricity as follows –

a. Factors do you prefer the most while ordering the food online ?
Out of 226 respondents, 148 chose quick delivery as the main reason to
order food online. 125 respondents chose online food delivery apps
because of money saving. Convenience was chosen as the third
important factor for ordering food online by 121 respondents. Brand
trust was the other factor why online delivery was preferred by 97
respondents. 81 respondents use online delivery apps because of cash
back and offers. The least considered reason for ordering food online
was packaging which was chosen only by 50 respondents.

b. Which factors people are highly satisfied and highly dissatisfied


while delivery food through apps ?
• Payment convenience is the option with which the consumers are
highly satisfied.
• Customer service satisfies the consumer’s need to be treated well.
Consumers are almost neutral when it comes to brand trust.
• Consumers are dissatisfied with the presentation of food because
they think that the presentation of the food should be increased.
• Consumers are highly dissatisfied with the ordering process &Quality
of food because they think that even after spending so much on
ordering food online they do not get the quality of food that they
actually expect from them

Yes, 100% of our respondents has give suggestion to buy food online . They
prefer zomato to most of the people . In comparison of swiggy , uber eats and
food panda.
Do you share reviews about food delivery apps
some reviews share by respondents :

• Out of 226 respondents, 70 respondents gave suggestions regarding


the improvements in online food delivery apps. Different
respondents have their different suggestion which are discussed
further.

• Some of the consumers recommended these apps to improve the


quality of their food because they felt that the quality of the food
was not as per the expectations.
• Some of the consumers demanded good packaging .
• Delivery boys working for these online food delivery apps were asked
to be more polite with the customers.

• Many consumers also demanded variety in menu selection as they


found the variety of desserts to be less.
