INTRODUCTION
Heat Exchangers are the devices that are used to transfer thermal energy (enthalpy) between two or
more fluids, between a solid surface and a fluid, or between solid particulates and a fluid, at different
temperatures and in thermal contact.
Twisted tube technology is one of the passive heat transfer enhancement technology, which has
been able to overcome some of the limitations of the conventional shell and tube technology, and
in addition, provide superior overall heat transfer coefficient through tube side enhancement.
Twist produces the swirling flow, increases the turbulence thus even at low Reynolds numbers the
heat transfer is more as the heat transfer coefficient is improved.
Baffles are eliminated thus no pressure drop in the flow fields.
