What is TAM?

• Technology Acceptance Model(TAM) is an information

systems theory that models how users come to accept
and use a technology.

• Developed by Fred Davis in 1989

• To examine the students’ and teachers’ usage intention

to use digital tools and services in education.

• to examine the relationships between perceived ease of

use, perceived usefulness, and attitude towards

Perceived Usefulness: The degree to which a
person believes that using a particular
technology would enhance his or her job
performance.
Perceived Ease of Use : The degree to which a
person believes that using a particular system
would be free from effort.

Attitude Towards
Technology Use (ATTU)

Both PU and PEOU together shape the attitude

of an individual towards accepting a new
technology. Attitude towards using a specific
application results in whether he/she actually
uses it or not.

Behavioural Intention
to Use (BI/USE):

Behavioural intention is a function of PU and

ATTU. It explains about the different factors
which influences computer usage intention.

Incentives

Incentives is an external variable which

influences the behavioural intention to use
computers .
Some faculties expresses their concern that using ICT tools will
hamper their academic freedom and autonomy. So, institutes
need to address the issue and make necessary reforms by
providing incentives and rewards which will encourage them to
adopt the technology. Also, the students should know the
benefits of using technology in their respective fields and the
impact it will have in their life.

Results And Findings

 There is a positive relationship between the users’

perceived usefulness and the behavioural intention of
the users’.
 There is a positive relationship between the users’
perceived ease of use and the behavioural intention of
the users.
 There is a positive relationship between the users’
perceived ease of use and the users’ perceived
usefulness.
 There is a linear relationship between incentives and the
intention to adopt/use new technology
