ABSTRACT
• In our project we develop a hardware system to chase the birds using new technology.
• The System has two parts:
• In the first part we detect and track the birds from the image using machine learning techniques .
• It is possible to quickly and automatically produce models that can analyze more complex data and
deliver faster, more accurate results – even on a very large scale.
• CNN is a Deep learning method to predict the output.
• In second part it consist of an ultrasonic sound generator system which produce ultrasonic sound in the
range of more than 20 kHz which irritates the birds and force them away.
• Various stages involved in proposed methodology:
Preprocessing
Segmentation
Features Extraction
Classification
PROBLEM STATEMENT

• According to the Agriculture survey, crops and grain efficiency decreases

due to pest birds and animals.

• In earlier days many manual techniques are used to scare the birds
• Such available methods are chemical repellent, spike guards, shooting the
birds with gunshot

• These method are found to only provide short term relief and more difficult
to perform.

• So we develop a hardware system using machine learning to get more

accurate output and long term relief.
FEATURE:

• Birds, animals and insects are the major threat for farming. Using pesticides
and other chemicals for protecting fields from them affects the productivity of
soil and causes health hazards for human beings. Using ultrasonic devices to
ran away the threats from field will be effective as it is more effective than
other conventional methods.
TECHNOLOGIES USED:
IMAGE PROCESSING

 Preprocessing->noise reduction and contrast enhancement of region of interests.

 Segmentation->Divide the images into number of segments and Identify the

segment where the birds are found .

 Feature extraction->After segmentation of image, features are extracted from the

regions of interest to detect
CNN

• Convolutional Neural Networks are a category of Neural Networks that have

proven very effective in areas such as image recognition and classification.
• The ability to track one object in a complex environment with higher accuracy
than traditional methods.
• Very low error rate
CNN

• For the recognition of the image, CNN has four main operations:
Convolution
Non Linearity (ReLU)
Pooling or Sub Sampling
Classification (Fully Connected Layer
REQUIREMENTS:

• DETECTION SYSTEM: Webcam, Raspberry pi3, OS(LINUX), Programming

language(python), Library(OpenCV)
• REPELLENT SYSTEM: Ultrasonic device(HCSR04), Audrino
DIAGRAM:

When birds enter into the farming lands through the webcam the
system will automatically detect the birds with the help of machine
learning. Then the system will produce ultrasonic sound.
