Presentation
Group Members:
Q1.Based on the business you are in, would a PMO and
EPM server add any value? Why or why not?

◦ PMO: The organization that we visited is Frontier work organization(FWO),which consists of six
core departments headed by their own respective directors. These departments are monitored
by one centralized body that is called PM&E which stands for Project monitoring and evaluation.
This body works as a PMO within this organization which helps in monitoring and evaluation the
progress the outcomes of the projects carried out by the FWO. The function of this body is to
develop, implement and continuously improve processes and tools being used in managing
projects. It also acts as a governing approval body to evaluate if project should move from one
phase to another and also track the progress of the project if going as per planned, Furthermore
it performs variance analysis to find the gap between the planned and actual performance of the
projects. Hence improving the quality of the work as well as the progress of the projects to add
value to the performance and reputation of organization. Therefore it can be concluded very
safely that the PMO add value to the organization.
◦ EPM Server: FWO utilizes EPMS in PM & E (Project Monitoring & Evaluation) department ( Operations) to
evaluate each process of different departments i.e. (Plans, Operations, Finance, Logistics, IT, HR, etc)
◦ 1 – Processes and activities of each department is scrutinized through EPMS of FWO to analyze
whether relevant objectives has met or not.
