SWOT ANALYSIS

Strengths:
1.Carol had a very amiable and interactive nature.She meet each
and every new subordinates personally.
2.She didn’t say no when she was given an opportunity to lead the
venture.It shows her leadership quality and positive will to accept
the challenges.

Weakness:
1.She had less experience than Walter.
2.She was unwilling to talk with Walter after getting being
promoted.A feeling of being uneasiness is there.
• Opportunities:
1.Carol got a chance to lead the venture.
2.She should take decisions by herself and should believe in
her decisions.

• Threats:
1.It might happen that the new decisions taken by Carol may
also go wrong as she hadn’t had that much experience.
• PROBLEMS IDENTIFICATION AND SOLUTIONS:
• 1.Carol was younger and had comparatively less experience
than Walter ,still she was given the responsibility to handle
the new venture.why?
• Ans: Carol was doing well in the company. She was also
getting frequent promotions and she had cordial nature as
wherever she went she deepened her relationships by
meeting each and every individual personally. Also since
Walton was failed to carry on the new start up software
publishing venture for the Larchmount so its right decision
on the part of partners to step out Walton and to step in
carol.
• 2.Carol was facing discomfort for discussing the proposed
solutions with Watson. why ?
• Ans: Carol was initially appointed as subordinate to Walter
as writer and editor.He was her mentor as well as her boss
and even guided her to become consultant but after that
when Watson was failed in his venture ,Carol was chosen to
take the lead.Thats why Carol was facing uneasiness to have
a talk with Watson.
• 3. How could Carol approach to Walter?
• Ans: There can be two ways by which Carol could approach
Walter.One way is she should understand her position and
designation and should not drive away by emotional feelings
of the relationship regarding the positions that she had with
Watson before. Second way is she should try to have
conversations with Walter first outside the premises of office
to make him feel comfortable and she should not become
dominant over Walter initially.
• 4. Carol should dismiss Walter on the grounds of being
ineffective to carry on the venture. Why or why not ?
• Ans: Before directly dismissing Walter she should try to figure
out the strategies that might lead to failure of venture. She
should have an eye on the work of Walter .If he is found loyal
towards his work she should not dismiss him because every
second venture cannot become successful every time. On the
other hand she should also be loyal towards his designation
and should dismiss him if he was found not serious towards his
work.
