There has certainly been for you in the Messenger of Allah an
excellent pattern for anyone whose hope is in Allah and the Last Day
and [who] remembers Allah often. Surah Ahzab 33:21

• Our character is our identity in this world and our destination in
the here-after
• Character is all what WE ARE MADE UP OFF 
Character with Allah or our Beliefs
Character with His creation.
• Moral character is the hallmark of a Muslim- Best religion implies
Best followers.

• Allah’s Messenger said, “I was sent to perfect good character.”
• life was a model and embodiment of PEAK OF MORALITY.
Prophet’s in all walks of life both PUBLIC and PRIVATE.

techniques and eloquence, but BEST MORAL CHARACTER.
• By building STRONG MORAL CHARACTER a person achieves
SUCCESS in both worlds.

The Companions were the best after him. Lived the message of
Islam witnessed revelation and followed his character inch by
inch.
 SOUND HEART
• HEART is the center of all control of your body
• It is the place of INTENTIONS, EMOTIONS and SENTIMENTS.
• All your actions will depend upon the state of heart you have, sick corrupt heart will
have evil and sinful actions ; a sound believing heart will direct towards righteous
actions.
• Allah’s Messenger said, “Beware, in the body there is a piece of flesh; if it is sound,
the whole body is sound and if it is corrupt the whole body is corrupt, and hearken
it is the heart.” Sahih Muslim
 PURIFY YOUR HEART, RECTIFY YOUR
ACTIONS

Do not adhere to the ‘ways of the old’ if they contradict the Sunnah
Racism & Arrogance
• Do not show superiority of oneself , do not reject truth nor look down
upon others., never favor anyone based on their race, color, language
etc

 Beware of Hatred & Envy
Forget & Forgive

• Be Brothers, Be Believers Anywhere Everywhere-

• Work united to strengthen Ummah, forgive mistakes, leave grudges, have
restraint when your brother is angry don’t win a battle to loose a war.
• Don’t satisfy your ego with dissatisfaction of Allah.
Forgive, forget his faults and build a true bond with your brother.
‘Do you not want that Allah should forgive you?’ Surah Noor 24:22

Allah’s Messenger was most humble in his character.

The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon
him) said: “And no one humbles himself before Allaah
but Allaah will raise him (in status). Jami` at-Tirmidhi 2029,

PATIENCE & STEADFASTNESS
Obedience to Allah and saving

Be steadfast in obedience to

hardship and ease, highs and
lows
Adhere to Patience in times of
temptations, desires, trials in
wealth and corruption, illness
and hardships-.

 Be like the fresh tender plant, the patient
believer.
Narrated Abu Huraira: Allah’s Messenger ‫ﷺ‬said, “The example of a believer is
that of a fresh tender plant; from whatever direction the wind comes, it bends it,
but when the wind becomes quiet, it becomes straight again. Similarly, a believer
is afflicted with calamities (but he remains patient till Allah removes his
difficulties.) And an impious wicked person is like a pine tree which keeps hard
and straight till Allah cuts (breaks) it down when He wishes.”
[Sahih al-Bukhari 5644 Book-75 Hadith-4]
• Patience purifies you from sins and earns your great reward
• Remember no hardship is forever and Allah promised ease after hardship

• Reward of Patience is Jannah.

Indeed, I have rewarded them this Day for their patient
endurance – that they are the attainers [of success].”

 MODESTY IN SPEECH
Speech gives a reflection of your heart; so be careful of what you
speak!
Harshness in Speech, Vulgar talk and disrespectful talk tars the
moral of a Believer.
Harsh and evil speech destroys bonds of brotherhood and turns
matters worse, softness and kind speech builds all bonds and
removes all shackles of hatred.
 Prophet’s sublime reply even to the
Arrogant!
Narrated `Aisha:
(the wife of the Prophet) A group of Jews entered upon the Prophet ( )‫ﷺ‬and said,
"As-Samu-Alaikum." (i.e. death be upon you). I understood it and said, "Wa-
Alaikum As-Samu wal-la'n. (death and the curse of Allah be Upon you)." Allah's
Messenger ( )‫ﷺ‬said "Be calm, O `Aisha! Allah loves that on, should be kind and
lenient in all matters." I said, "O Allah's Messenger ( !)‫ﷺ‬Haven't you heard what
they (the Jews) have said?" Allah's Messenger ( )‫ﷺ‬said "I have (already) said (to
them) "And upon you ! "Sahih al-Bukhari 6024
 MODESTY IN ACTION

The Messenger of Allah said: "The Muslim is the one from

whose tongue and hand the people are safe, and the
believer is the one from whom the people's lives and
wealth are safe.“ Sunan an-Nasa'i 4995,Sahih (Darussalam)
A Believer has haya and is ashamed to commit acts of
disobedience, for Allah the Most shy is watchful over him
 Example of Uthman the companion of
whom even the Angels were Shy
• Incident of the Prophet commending the merit of shyness in
Uthman.
• “Should I not be modest before a man from whom the angels
are shy?”
• We should feel ashamed of immodest actions,
• Lower our gaze from indecency, distance ourselves and refrain our
limbs from indulging in shameful behavior.

Ways of Acquiring
 Just as body falls sick if good health is not maintained
and nourishment is absent, the heart too falls into
corruption if good character is not acquired and
nurtured

‫ح منۡزكىها‬ ۡ ‫قدۡ أفل‬
He will indeed be successful who purifies it Surah Shams
91:9

 KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL SET

• Seek knowledge about right conduct of speech, manners, values and

thoughts- Life of the Prophet and Companions are best guidelines
• No yardstick defines good character except the Book of Allah, Quran ;
and the prophet had the character of the Quran – “ His character
was the Qura’an”
• Attend gatherings of tarbiya of righteous scholars, preachers and
companions in faith to learn from them.
 INTROSPECTION AND RECTIFICATION

• Look into your own character, ponder deeply upon its defects and shortcomings
• Return and Repentance- Turn to Allah with sincere repentance, turn over a new
leaf. Make a firm resolve to leave the old sinning behavior.
• Be more concerned about your faults more that others ; look upto those who
are better than you, imbibe the character of the prophet and companions.
• Do not despair, make dua for a complete reform.
• Fear the Punishment of the evil- Most effective and rewardful factor for brining
change in Moral character
 EFFORTS AND TRAINING STRIVING FOR IT

• Hadith of Abu darda

• Messenger of Allah said, “Knowledge is acquired by seeking it and
patience is acquired by striving for it and one who strives to protect
himself from evil, will be protected.” Graded Hasan by Sheikh Albani.
• ‘ Practice makes Perfect’ if you want to be humble practice actions of
humility, if you want to be generous practice acts of charity.
• Practice will instill these qualities in you, making it part of your nature
with the help of Allah.inshaa Allah
 REWARD OF HIGH MORAL CHARACTER
َ َ ‫َ َ َّ َ ۡ َ َ َ َ َ َ ِّ َ َ َ َّ ۡ َ َ ي‬
٤٠ ‫َأما من ِاف مقاَ رب ِهۦ َنَه ٱلنفس عن ٱلهوى‬
And as for him who fears to stand in the presence of his
Lord and forbids the soul from low desires,
َ ‫يَي‬ َ َّ َ ‫ي‬ َّ َ
٤١ ‫ه ٱلمأَى‬َ ِ ‫فإن ٱلجنة‬
‫ي‬ ِ
Then surely the garden-- that is the abode.
 May Allah unite us in His Highest
Abode with our Beloved Prophet
by raising our scales of High Moral
character
