INTRODUCTION
• WHAT IS ECONOMIC DISPARITY ?
Economic disparity is the gap between the rich and poor. It can be in form
of assets , wealth or income which is not distributed among the population of a country or a state.

2
CAUSES OF
ECONOMIC
DISPARITY
Economic disparity can be due to various
reasons. Few are mentioned below:
1. Education
2. Bad Governance
3. Little or no opportunities
4. Racism
5. Over population
6. Lackadaisical people

3
CAUSES OF ECONOMIC DISPARTITY
• EDUCATION : People who belong from backward areas mostly don’t put much effort on their education which causes
them to have low paying jobs or no jobs at all.
• BAD GOVERNANCE : Government fails to collect tax and spend them on deserving people. Secondly due to bad
governance people have little trust in the government that their tax will be properly utilized if there is Nepotism,
corruption, and favoritism etc.
• NO OPPUTUNITIES : Third world countries mostly fail to provide opportunities to their citizens for upgrading their
standards .
• RACISIM : In some parts of world studies have shown that racism amongst people leads to poor jobs. Employers do not
recruit people just because of their colour. Quotas are set for specific communities.
• OVER POPULATION : Limited awareness amongst people about family planning causes overcrowding leading to meagre
resources, becoming a burden on society .
• LACKADAISICAL PEOPLE : People who don’t try for a better lifestyle, become insouciant and are fruitless members of a
society.
FACTS AND FIGURES
1. The 1% population owns 45% of the World’s wealth .
2. 3.3 Billion adults have less then $10,000 to their name.

POTENTIAL SOLUTIONS

1. GOVERNMENT ACTIONS :
• More government programs to help poor communities.
• Make proper use of taxes so that bare necessities are
fulfilled.
• Making education free so that children aren’t a burden on
parents.
• Corruption should be checked so that funds are used on
deserving individuals .
• For an Islamic State, practice of zakat should be properly
implemented.
