The central idea
The main goal of the IBL is to increase the
motivation , learning and enhance communication
skills of the students . The students become more
responsible for their own learning .
Approaches to Teaching
1. Based on inquiry:
The students will learn about questions of their own by searching for answers ,
as its student centered process the teacher will be a facilitator .
2. Focused on conceptual understanding
the students will have deeper understanding of the content through concepts using
open ended questions .
3. developed in local and global context:
During IBL , the students have the right to investigate about any local or global
context they are interested in , as long as the teacher is there to guide them .
4. Focused on teamwork and collaboration
Class should be sit in groups in order to make sure all learners discuss their
questions and ideas after that they will come up with answers collaboratively .

5. Differentiated to meet the needs of all learners
Through teaching , the teacher will explore her students abilities and skills
.Different teaching strategies should be used to make sure that all learners
have to participate .level of inquiry questions each learner will work on will
differ as well .
6. Informed by assessment
In order to make sure that learners are showing progress , the teacher needs to
assess her students through formative and summative assessments and
provide them with the feed back at the end of each topic.

1. Communication
learners will share their ideas with the whole class or probably
the school community as well ; they might use their
presentation skills to share their investigation findings.

2. Research:
researching skills will developed through looking for answers
for their inquiry questions .

3.Thinking:
learners will improve their critical thinking skills in every time they are
creating a new inquiry question and reflect on what they are learning .
4. Self management:
by being responsible of their own learning ;learners need to dedicate time
and effort to work on their investigation questions and tasks .
5. Social
through collaborative working in groups ; learner will accept others ideas
and accept working with each one of his/ her group member regardless
to their opinions through discussions .

In my classroom...
- Teaching and learning in the diploma programme engages
students as inquirers and thinkers ; promptes the
understanding and practice of academic honesty and the
diversity of students .
- What is essential in any classromm is that each student is
actively engaged in all activities and there is a highly degree
of interaction between the teacher and students.
Conclusion
- After watching this video ; I believe that the teacher
can help her student to improve their learning skills
to become life long learners through good planning
and working on interesting inquiry questions .
- Learning should focus on meaningful questions and
contexts and the voice of the learner is considered to
be as important as the teacher voice .
