SCHOOLS

A school is an educational institution designed to provide learning

spaces and learning environments for the teaching of students (or "pupils")
under the direction of teachers. Most countries have systems of
formal education, which is commonly compulsory . In these systems,
students progress through a series of schools.

The names for these schools vary by country (discussed in the Regional
section below) but generally include primary school for young children
and secondary school for teenagers who have completed primary
education.

When designing a school, factors that need to be decided

include:

•Goals: What is the purpose of education, and what is the school's role?
•Governance: Who will make which decisions?
•Parent involvement: In which ways are parents welcome at the school?
•Student body: Will it be, for example, a neighborhood school or a specialty school?
•Student conduct: What behavior is acceptable, and what happens when behavior is
inappropriate?
•Curriculum: What will be the curriculum model, and who will decide on curricula?
EDUCATION IS ONE OF THE VERY IMPORTANT ASPECT FOR THE DEVELOPMENT
OF ANY COUNTRY. EDUCATION NOT ONLY PROMOTE BETTER LIFE BUT VERY
CRUCIAL FOR THE OVERALL DEVELOPMENT OF A HUMAN BEING. IT PROMOTES
QUALITY BY PROVIDING OPTIMUM OPPORTUNITIES TO EVERYONE.
Loopholes (Present system)
1. Centered around Examinations.
Very crucial when we talk about evaluation of knowledge. The whole process of examinations
is about evaluating student on a fixed pattern and then giving ranks to them.
Knowledge is often limited to rote memorizing and reproducing the same in the
examinations. Their innate talents are not recognized; instead their capability in writing
examination is being tested.
2.Mentors not Teachers/Bosses
Our system forces teachers to be the bosses, a boss who can suppress the ideas, creativity,
imagination, originality and talent of the student. They focus more on the syllabus and
memorizing the the concepts in the books. Something new is considers out of syllabus and
hence irrelevant.
3. Private Schools vs Public Schools vs Government Schools.
The divide and differences between the three sectors is also a loophole in the current
education system. Accepting the fact that position of government schools is very bad but
despite of the situation they are doing really well because of various reasons. One of the
reason is aspired students usually from poor background and a urge to have better life
ahead.
Extremely talented students with very few opportunities.
We also need to accept that our government made lots of policies for the government
schools which really did well.
 4. School as a cultural identity.
More specifically to rural India, schools always have been a symbol of cultural and societal
importance. Every single individual of that area or village had respect for schools.
 5. Its a long process.
India is a young country with very large population and to cater this big population is indeed
a huge task. The top most priority after independence of the policy makers was just to
educate our country.
