TEOTWAWKI Energy

Tech.
Types of Batteries

Self-discharge rate <0.3%/month

Time durability 5–10 years

Can be recharged.
NiCd Rechargeable Battery

 Charge/discharge efficiency 70–

90%[1]
 Self-discharge rate 10%/month
 Cycle durability 2,000 cycles
Nickel–metal hydride battery

 Charge/discharge efficiency
 66%–92%
 Self-discharge rate
 13.9–70.6% at room temperature
 36.4–97.8% at 45 °C
 Low self-discharge: 1.3–2.9% at 20 °C
(per month)
 Cycle durability 180 –2000 cycles
Lead Acid Battery

 Charge/discharge efficiency 50–95%

 Never discharge to less than 80%
 Self-discharge rate 3–20%/month
 Cycle durability 350 cycles
 Used With most Solar Power Systems
Series Connected Batteries

 Positive terminal of one cell is

connected to the negative
terminal of the next, is called a
series connected battery.
 The voltage of this type of
battery is the sum of a
individual cell voltages.
Parallel Connected Batteries

 Connect the negative

terminal from one cell to the
negative of the next cell
 Connect the positive terminal
to the positive terminal, is
parallel connected.
 Voltage remains constant and
the current is cumulative.
Parallel Connections

 Use with 12 volt Solar Power Systems. SERIES

 During the Zombie Apox. If there is

no EMP and vehicles still work.
 Park Your vehicle as if it is broken
down on the side of the road.
 Remove the battery and carry to
your BOL for use in your Solar Power
System.
Solar Power Systems

 Are easy to connect.

 Most use 1 or more car batteries.
 The more batteries the better
 Are inexpensive
 Harbor Freight has a 100 Watt unit for
$125.00
