INTRODUCTION

Strategy is a detailed plan for a business in achieving success. Since,


business is a high-stakes game, a poorly planned and executed strategic more
could result in the loss of millions of dollars, thousands of jobs, even bankruptcy
of business (DAUDA et al.,2010).
OBJECTIVES

• To determine the importance of Strategic Management and Productivity of


the business in Taft Eastern Samar.
• To identify the relationship between Strategic Management and Productivity
of the business.
• To determine strategic Management of businesses in Taft E. Samar
SIGNIFICANCE OF THE STUDY
• RESEARCHER- may gain more knowledge about the Strategic Management
and Productivity of the Business in Taft E. Samar
• ENTERPRENEUR- this study may serve as the guideline oh how to manage a
business.
• ECONOMY- if the business use this study as a guidelines and become a
successful, the economic growth will be high.
• FUTURE RESEARCHER- the researcher hope that the information gained from
this study will give them an additional information if they want to undertake
and work in a similar field.

SCOPE AND DELIMITATION

This study focuses on the Strategic Management and Productivity of the


Business of Taft Eastern Samar. This involves a survey for those who have a
business in the Taft Eastern Samar. The selected of the respondents are only
limited since there are lots of businesses in Taft.
The research is designed to have a through knowledge on how to
manage their business. And what they can do for the productivity of the
business.
DEFINITION OF TERMS

Strategic Management - is the continuous planning, monitoring, analysis and


assessment of all that is necessary for an organization to meet its goals and
objectives.
Productivity – is a measure of how efficiently a process runs and how
effectively it uses resources.
Strategic planning – is an organization’s process of defining its strategy, or
direction, and making decisions on allocating its resources to pursue this
strategy.
REVIEW OF RELATED LITERATURE

Jims Collins 1997 “ Why a company exists rather than what it makes”
“ The strategic management process is a management technique used to plan for
the future” ( Mekhala Roy, Bianca Rawson)
Research performed by Eastlack and McDonald (1970), Thune and House (1970),
Ansoff et. al. (1971), Karger and Malik (1975), and Hofer and Schendel (1978) indicate
that formulized strategic management ( strategic planning ) does result in superior
performance by organizations
“ Strategic Planning helps determine the direction and scope of an organization over
the long term, matching its resources to it’s changing environment and, in particular,
its markets, customers and clients, so its meet stakeholder expectations” (Johnson and
Scholes, 1993)
“A major step forward in bringing explicitly competitive thinking bear on questions of
strategy” ( Ghemawat, Pankaj 2002
RESEARCH METHOD

This study used a descriptive survey method used to know the strategic
management and the productivity of business of Taft E. Samar. This include
how they managed and planning of their business. And also include if these
result in the productivity of their business. On the other hand, this will also use
correlation, to the relationship between the strategic management and
productivity of the business in Taft E. Samar.
Descriptive survey method, this is scientific method which involves of
collecting information and describing the behavior of the business. It’s allowed
the researcher to carefully describe and understand strategic management
and productivity of a business. This study use also correlational for it
demanded the degree to which the variables is related to each other.
SUBJECTS AND RESPONDENTS

The subjects of this study are the businesses of Taft E. Samar. This study
have only 20 respondents who have the good strategic management for the
productivity in their businesses, that will answer our questions.
RESEARCH INSTRUMENTATION

This study will use survey questionnaire to gather the data that needed
from the respondents. The survey questionnaire that will use in the study was
designed to obtain information about the strategic management and
productivity of the business of Taft E. Samar.
SAMPLING DESIGN

`The business of Taft E. Samar that has business permit totaled 146. And
we only focuses in 20 business. We randomly selected 20 business that are
choosen to response our study.
STATISTICAL TREATMENT OF DATA

The responses to the questionnaire were statistically analyzed, and


interpret with the data that required in the study. The researcher were
analyzed with the data instruments of the study. Descriptive statistics such
frequent count, percent and rank will be considered, to measure the possible
answers of the corresponding business of Taft E. Samar.
