Simple present

I am Sarah. My full name is Sarah Lau Smith. I am a second
grade student of Junior High School. I am 14 years old. My
birth day is on July 5.In my family, I am the second child. I have
an older brother named Nathan and one younger sister
named Grace. My mother is from China and my father is from
Australia. We live in Indonesia.My family and I love pets. We
have some pets at home, namely five fish, one dog and two
cats. Nathan love cats but I love dogs. Our cats and dog are
like friends. They never fight. In the future, I want to be a
veterinarian. I want to help animals to survive so they can live
longer. I like watching their unique behaviors. They are all
beautiful creatures. I love animals.

I have a friend named Julie Rose. She is my classmate in
Senior High School grade 12. She is 17 years old. She likes
music, swimming and going to the cinema. She also likes
hanging out with friends. She is very kind and friendly.She
is a very normal American girl. But, she has one unusual
hobby. She loves extreme sports like parachuting, bungee
jumping, wing-suit flying, kite surfing, skateboarding, and
many more.Julie joins one sport club. This club conducts
one extreme sport on Sunday, twice a month. Julie wins
many competitions of this kind of sport. Julie wants to be
a professional athlete of extreme sport.She is never afraid
of danger or being injured. She always says that extreme
sports are a part of her life. She is alive and feels joy of life
while doing the extreme sport.

There are six people in my family: my father, mother, three
daughters and one grandmother. I am a third daughter with
two elder sisters. My first elder sister is Natashia; another
sister’s name is Nandiya.My father is the most handsome man
because there is no son in my family. He works as a taxi driver.
He loves helping people and meeting new people. He always
smiles and thanks to God for everything. He works very hard
to fulfill all of our needs.My mother is also a hard worker.
Every morning she wakes up so early to cook food then sell it.
She is the best chef for us. We love her cooking. We usually
help her to prepare food to sell. Mother never forgets to care
all people in our family.We also live with our grandmother. She
is our father’s mother. We love our grandmother. Sometimes
she is talkative but we know that she love us. She loves
gardening. She plants many flowers in our garden. The flowers
make our house beautiful.

Today, Chiya is visiting her grandparents. She loves cooking with her
grandmother. Her grandma usually teaches her how to cook delicious
dishes. At this moment, Chiya is learning how to make tasty chicken
soup.Chiya is helping to cut some onions, chilies, carrots, potatoes and
other vegetables. She is also writing her grandmother’s recipe. She
plans to make chicken soup at home next Monday. She is making the
chicken soup for her mother. Next Monday is her mother’s birthday.An
hour later, Chiya and grandparents have finished eating chicken soup.
Now, Chiya is listening to her grandfather’s story. Chiya also loves
listening to her grandpa’s story.Her gandpa has many stories about life,
joke, culture and many more. Now, Chiya with grandmother are
listening to one story of The Arabian Nights (1001 nights). They’re
enjoying their time together.

really busy right now, I’m still writing for you. What a good friend,
right? Ha ha!We are all getting ready for my grandmother’s seventieth
birthday. There is a big family party this evening in the garden, with
about 40 people. Some of my aunts, uncles and their children are here
because today we’re preparing for the party. My dad is putting up
lights in the garden at the moment. My uncles are organizing tables
and chairs. My mother is cooking in the kitchen and my aunts are
helping her.My cousins are here too. However, they aren’t helping

Hi, my name is Luna Ariesta. School holidays are about to come. I usually
spend my holidays with my family. But this time will be different. I am going to
join one adventure holiday in Bali with my cousins and other teenagers. Here
are the arrangements.It’s a camping holiday for two weeks in Bali. I am
leaving on Sunday, July 30. Then, I am going home on Sunday, August 13. On
the first day, we are putting on backpacks then hiking to Mount Batur. It is the
second highest point of Bali with 1.717 meters above sea level. We’re setting
up our tents at 1.500 meters. Then we’re enjoying stunning sunset at peak of
the mount.Next day, we are going down and enjoying beautiful view with
amazing sunrise. Finally, we’re visiting Batur Natural Hot Spring to relax and
recharge our mind at the natural hot spring.Then, the organizers are providing
other adventure activities like paint battles,flying fox, trekking through forest
and being close to nature. On other days, we’re meeting a Balinese family.
We’re helping them to plant fruit and vegetables. They say the locals are kind
and friendly.After enjoying nature in a week, we are having water activities in
Tanjung Benoa Beach. Yay, finally we’re going to the beach. They’re providing
many water activities and we’re joining four water activities; they are
Parasailing Adventure, Jet Ski, Banana Boat, and Diving. Our experience and
knowledge about life under water will be upgraded soon.On the next day,
we’re learning about Balinese culture. We’re visiting some temples and
interacting with Balinese people. The culture is one of the big reasons why
tourists love visiting Bali. I’m very excited and can’t wait to be there soon.
 Simple past tense
1.
During my last holiday, I made a lot of handcrafts. At that time, I was
crazy about art and creativity. Many ideas had come to my mind three
months before. All of the ideas were written on my note book so I could
read them again. Also, I searched other ideas from internet. Yap, I
googled it. I watched tutorial videos and read many art blogs.My
parents helped me to prepare the materials. They also gave me money
to buy things I needed. On the first day, I painted on some rocks. People
call it rock art. It was so fun. My siblings joined me on the third day.
Then, my siblings and I made paper crafts from used newspapers and
magazines. Papers were rolled, shaped and glued together to create
decorative designs. Many beautiful crafts were created.The last activity
was sewing. My mother is a tailor so I learn how to sew from her. My
mother helped me too. Sewing used clothes and towels was very
fun. We produced many useful things. Finally, I really enjoyed my last
holiday.

One day my uncle told me about his childhood. When he was ten years old, he
liked to climb a mango tree. He usually climbed the tree with some friends.
Then they picked some mangoes without permission. Yap, they liked to steal
mangoes. They frequently ate mangoes on the tree. They had prepared a fruit
peeler and a plastic bag for the garbage. What a good preparation! They
didn’t want to throw the garbage everywhere. They kept the environment
clean. That’s a good point. But stealing fruits is a bad point.My uncle said it
was so fun. Sometimes they were caught by the owners. They had ever met
both kind and unkind owners. A kind owner was never angry to them. She/he
let them pick some mangoes. “Don’t eat too many mangoes or you will get a
stomachache” a kind owner advised one day. Meanwhile an unkind owner
punished them to clean a pool and back yard.There was one owner who was
really angry to them. Then he came to the kids’ parents and asked for much
money for the mangoes they had eaten. Their parents couldn’t afford it. The
owner gave them some weeks to pay or he would call the police. Then he and
his friends tried to earn money to help their parents. After school he worked at
a car wash.My uncle learnt that earning money was not easy. But it wasn’t
impossible. After three weeks, he could gave the money to the mango-tree
owner. Magically, the owner turned into a nice guy and asked my uncle to
keep the money. He gave the money to his parents. Finally he never stole the
mangoes anymore but still liked to climb a mango tree.

iThis is an example of Simple Past Tense paragraph about my friend
named Jacko. Once Jacko told me about his experience. He and his
friends went to a lake in December 2015. They wanted to spend some
days in a villa near the lake. They had discussed about this plan from
July the same year.Before going to the lake, Jacko’s mother didn’t allow
him to go. The weather wasn’t good at that time. Besides, his father
was sick. His father kept calling his son’s name when he was sleeping.
Jacko’s mother asked him many times to cancel it. Jacko quarrelled
with his mother at night and left home.Next morning, Jacko got many
messages from his mother. He didn’t reply those messages. He also
rejected his mother’s telephone calls. Jacko went to the lake with his
friends. He really enjoyed activities and his time with friends. It was so
fun.On the last day, it rained so heavely. When they were ready to
leave, one of his friends named Obi was not in the villa. They looked for
Obi everywhere in the villa, but he wasn’t there. Then, one local boy
said that a dead boy was found on the lake. They checked it and it was
Obi, Jacko’s best friend. He felt so sad and regretted all of it.
