SUMMARY OF FINDINGS
I. Extent of Internet Use of Grade 12 students in Nabuslot
National High School
Item number five (5), the always use of free internet provided
by mobile networks with a mean of 4.58 interpreted to a very high
extent ranked first, item number eight (8) that the often use of
multimedia in internet with a mean of 4.42 ranked second, the often use
of prepaid internet service that is item number six (6) ranked third with
a mean of 4.00 interpreted to a high extent.
Item number four (4) the seldom use of internet provided in
private establishments with a mean of 2.00 ranked fourth, the seldom
use of internet provided at the public park which is item number three
(3) ranked fifth with a mean of 1.75 interpreted to a low extent, on the
sixth rank is item number seven (7) the seldom use of internet in
postpaid service with a mean of 1.58 interpreted to a low extent.
Meanwhile, with the mean of both 1.33, the never used internet
provided in school (item number 1) and the never used internet
provided at public offices or agencies (item number 2) were interpreted
to a very low extent ranked 7.5.
The overall mean is 2.63 and is interpreted to a moderate
extent.

Part I
1. The extent of internet use of Grade 12 students in
Nabuslot National High School is moderate.
Part II
1. The students regard the internet as an aid for studying, a
source of entertainment, a basic part of life
communication, and both helpful and destructive.
2. The internet helps the students with the accessibility of
information and use of gadgets for school-related
purposes, in communication, as a source of
entertainment, in serving as an outlet of feelings,
improving journalism and propagating news, shopping
effortlessly, getting job opportunity, giving positive
outlook, and giving better leadership outputs.
CONCLUSION
3. The disadvantages the students experienced using the
internet are internet addiction causing distracted learning
and health problems, negative influence on attitude and
behavior, development of trust issues, being ground of
cyberbullying, early parenthood caused by destructive
relationship, pornography, and pre-marital sex, and
financially sacrificial service.

4. The students think that self-control, time-management,


and limitation, family involvement, building of organization
for a cause, school regulation, and curriculum proposal
could address these distractions.
RECOMMENDATIONS
1. The students are recommended to maintain a
moderate extent of internet use.
2. Since there are advantages noted in this study, the
students are suggested to cultivate those and
effectively help them in their education.
3. Also, there are disadvantages known in this study.
So, the students may be recommended to be aware,
responsible, and avoid the possible harms of those
distractions.
4. Through the help of the school and family, students
may be advised to have self-control, proper time-
management, and limitation. Likewise, strong family
relationship may be established and reinforced.
