PRESENTATION
TASK 12
Agree or Disagree
1. King Minos is Cruel.
AGREE OR DISAGREE?
Evidence:
King Minos is cruel because he's vengeful, isn't
especially forgiving, and doensn't let go of a grudge does
when Daedalus helped his wife to seduce the handsome
bull by building a cow suit for her and aiding. Theseus in
his escape from the labyrinth and it enabled Theseus to
navigate the Labyrinth and run off with King Minos'
daughter. Instead of having heart to heart conversation
with Daedalus, King Minos imprison Daedalus and Icarus
that led them to plan escaping. Too bad because his hunt
for Daedalus is what leads to Icarus' death.
2.Daedalus is talented
AGREE
OR
DISAGREE?
Evidence:
His name itself means"skilled
worker". He was a famous architect,
inventor, and master craftsman for having
many created objects that figure
prominently in various myths. The
successful inventions he did were axe,
boat sails, a big maze called Labyrinth,
and fake wings for humans.
3. Icarus is foolish
Evidence:
Although he was warned, Icarus was too young
and enthusiastic about flying. He got excited by the
thrill of flying and carried away by the amazing
feeling of freedom and started flying high to salute
the sun, diving low to the sea, and then up high
again. And Icarus soon saw his wings melting that
led him fell to the sea and drowned.
4. Daedalus and Icarus
should have stayed in the
island after escaping from
the Labyrinth.
AGREE
OR
DISAGREE?
Evidence:
If they stayed in the island of
Crete after escaping the Labyrinth
maybe tomorrow they would be a
dead-meat knowing how powerful is
King Minos that he can hunt them
wherever they go, and they are still in
the island of Crete.
5. Daedalus is
responsible for
his son's death.
AGREE
OR
DISAGREE?
Evidence:
Daedalus already taught Icarus how to fly and
told him to keep away from the sun because the heat
would make the wax melt, destroying the wings and
not too close to the sea, as it would dampen them
and make it hard to fly. But Icarus became hard
headed and cocky that he forgot what his father said.
Daedalus was trying in vain to make Icarus to
understand that his behavior is dangerous. After not
listening to his father's warning he fell to the sea and
drowned. Also, it's not Daedalus intention to put his
son's life to death.
