-16 out of the 38 parables Jesus gave deal
with money.

-Five times more is said about money than


prayer.
- There are about 500 verses or so on
prayer and faith.

-There are 2,000 on dealing with money


and possessions.
What are the signs of a sinful kind of
materialism?

“materialism isn't what you have,


it's how you ACT”
We need to understand that the
Bible teaches us that all money is really
God’s.

Hag 2:8 The silver [is] mine, and the gold [is]
mine, saith the LORD of hosts.
Deu 8:17-18 And thou say in thine heart, My
power and the might of [mine] hand hath gotten
me this wealth.
But thou shalt remember the LORD thy God:
for [it is] he that giveth thee power to get
wealth, that he may establish his covenant which
he sware unto thy fathers, as [it is] this day.
Biblical principles that are designed to
earn money.
1. WORK
Pro 14:23 Work and you will
earn a living; if you sit around
talking you will be poor.

“Work is a biblical doctrine.


It is a mandate from God.”
2. SAVE
Pro 21:20 [There is] treasure to be
desired and oil in the dwelling
of the wise;but a foolish man
spendeth it up

3. PLAN
Pro 27:23-24 Look after your sheep and cattle
as carefully as you can, because wealth is not
permanent. Not even nations last forever.
A. DO I REALLY NEED IT?
B. IS GOD TESTING MY TRUST?

C. DID I MISUSE WHAT HE GAVE ME?

D. HAVE I ACTUALLY VIOLATED THE


BIBLICAL PRINCIPLE?
What are the biblical principle with
regard to money?
1. Stinginess -Opposite of generous
Pro 11:24 There is that scattereth, and yet
increaseth; and [there is] that withholdeth
more than is meet, but [it tendeth] to poverty.
2. Hastiness
Pro 21:5 Plan carefully and you will have
plenty; if you act too quickly, you will never
have enough.
3. Stubbornness

Pro 13:18 Someone who


will not learn will
be poor and disgraced.
Anyone who listens to
correction is respected.
4. Laziness

Pro 20:13 If you spend


your time sleeping, you
will be poor. Keep busy
and you will have plenty
to eat.
5. Craftiness
Pro 28:19-20 A hard-working farmer
has plenty to eat. People who
waste time will always be
poor. Honest people will
lead a full, happy life. But
if you are in a hurry to get
rich, you are going to be
punished.
