• Humanities refers to the arts
Visual arts - architecture, painting,
and sculpture.
Performing arts - music, dance,
theatre or drama and literature.
Term art From italian word " artis"
which Means " craftsmanship, skill,
mastery of form, inventiveness.
THE NATURE OF ART
• Art is very important in our lives. It constitues
one of the oldest and most important means
of expression developed by man.
• Art is derived from the latin word " ars"
meaning " ability or skill".
• 4 essentials of art
1. Art must be man made
2. Art must be creative, not imitative.
3. Art must benefit and satisfy man

- artworks that have no resemblance to any real subject.
They do not represent anything rather they are what they

agricultural, business , distributive and fishery art.
