 INTRODUCTION

Power System fault is defined as undesirable condition that occurs in the power system. These
undesirable conditions such as short circuit, current leakage, ground short, over current and over voltage.
Power system protection is the most important requirement in the industrial or domestic electrical to
prevent equipment from damage cause by leakage current. The project is designed to control a circuit
breaker by using a password for the safety of electric man.

This proposed system provides a solution that ensures safety of maintenance staff or line man. The
control to turn on/off the line will be maintained by the line man only because this system has an
arrangement such that a password is required to operate the circuit breaker (on/off). This system is fully
controlled by a microcontroller from the 8051 family.
 NEED
To provide protection line man safety in maintance sub station.

In this proposed system the control (ON/OFF) of the electrical line lies with lineman.
Current scenario:
• In current situation electrical line man can remove the fuse
and stop electricity ,repair the electrical fault and then
also place fuse .

• But its not secure it may causes the electrical accident.

Working
Result:

• BY entering the password code with‘*’ then
lamp is ON.
• By entering the password code with ‘#’ then
lamp is OFF.
• Each line has to be give separate code.
Advantage
• It avoids electrical accidents to lineman.

• This project is very simple and easy.

 FUTURE SCOPE

• Development in electrical power transmission system requires the use of circuit breaker
with increasing breaking capacity.

• It can also be interfaced with a GSM modem for wireless controlling the electronic circuit
breaker via SMS.

Limitation:

• Harder and more costly to obtain high short

circuit interrupting capacities.
 Conclusion
From the above information finally, we can conclude that this system provides a
solution which can ensure that only the lineman can control the system and thus no
possibility of someone else interfering the system. The lineman can simply work the
loads from the major center rather than come to every circuit breaker source. Thus,
it is an extremely useful, inexpensive and safe way of using circuit breakers.
