CHARACTERISTICS OF RESEARCH

ACCURACY
It must give correct or accurate data, which the footnotes, notes, and
bibliographical entries should honestly and appropriately documented or
acknowledged.

OBJECTIVES
It must deal with facts, not with mere opinions arising from assumptions,
generalizations, predictions or conclusions.
Timeliness
It must work on a topic that is fresh, new, and interesting to the present
study.

Relevance
Its topic must be instrumental in improving society or in solving problems
affecting the lives of people in a community.
TYPES OF RESEARCH

1. Based on Application of Research Method


Pure Research
This type of research attempts to describe an existing situation and explain
certain pattern of behavior using either or both qualitative and quantitative
research techniques.

Applied Research
This type of research focus on variables or factors which can be changed
by intervention in order to achieved desired goal, like improvement of

Descripted Research
This type of research describes a situation or a given state of affairs in
terms of specified aspects or factors.

Correlation Research
This type of study answer why and how? The research investigates
relationship between factors or variables. Certain factors are assumed to

Quantitative Research

observations.
