History:

Cell phones were discovered to connect the people across the city,country and the
world.Communication becomes easier through the mobile phones.

The first MOBILE CALL is made in 1973 by a senior engineer MARTIN COOPER at MOTOROLA,
10 years before a first cell phone was released onto the market.He made that handheld mobile
phone call on a prototype Dyna TAC.

Next in 2000’s,many new versions were developed in nokia by updating the features.Those
mobile phones includes the WAP browser,MP 3 music capabilities,less weight
,durability,text messaging and splash-proof interchangeable casing.

Smart Phones are a class of mobile phones and multi-purpose mobile

computing devices.They are distinguished from feature phones by their stronger
hardware capabilities and extensive mobile operating systems.Smart phones
have multimedia functionality including music,videos and cameras.They also
support wireless communications protocols such as Bluetooth,Wi-Fi and satellite
navigation.
A Smart Phone allow individual users like you and me to install,configure
and run applications,or apps,of our choosing. A Smart Phone offers the ability to
configure the device to your particular way of doing things. Smart Phone
Technology is increasing day by day to improve features.

Smart phones are also viewed as a source of entertainment-games,music,movies,reality

shows and books.
4.Productivity apps:
Smart phones can do almost everything with the help of apps.The functionality of apps varies
from each other-photo and video editor,ticket booking,online store,payment system,data analysis etc.

5.GPS:
This technology allows people to locate certain addresses and area all around the world.This
helped improved not just communication,but most especially,transportation.

Disadvantages of smart phones:
1.Costly:
Smart phones can be expensive because of the more advanced features.Apart from the smartphone
itself,some applications require being purchased in order to fully use the other functionalities offered by the
app.if you also want data connectivity,you need to maintain a data plan.
2.Poor social interaction:
Based on the new data and apps in the smart phones,the usage of smart phones has been
increased.with this,the “real” social interaction degrades.People no longer interact with people outside as
they tend to spend more time with their smart phones.
3.Health issues:
Smart phones are also found to have a negative impact on your health.smart phones emit
radiofrequency energy which can be absorbed by the tissues in the body.Moreover,phones produce HEV
light which can damage your eye’s retina.
4.Addiction:
When you wake up in the morning,do you find yourself checking your phone first than anything else?if
you do,this is an early sign of smart phone addiction.this problem may lead to serious addiction.this may
include addiction to games,social media etc.
5.Privacy Threats:
Even if smart phones are made private,there are still security risks and threats everywhere.Hackers are
always present.Thus,you need to be extra cautious of opening sites and links.
As advantages and diasvantages are common for each and everything,it depends on our
usage.
