Optimize Energy Performance Consumables miles FEATURES AFFECTING SUSTAINABILITY OF THE BUILDING • DOUBLE PANNELED AND GLAZED CURTAIN WALL • A SMART ENERGY MANAGEMENT AND CONTROL SYSTEM. 1. VERTICAL TRANSPORTATION 2. ENERGY EFFICIENT LUMINARIES and LIGHTING CONTROLS 3. VAC SYSTEM • GREEN ROOF • RAIN WATER HARVESTING DOUBLE PANNELED AND GLAZED CURTAIN WALL • Double glazing. • Adding layers means additional thickness and weight. • Thinner krypton gas filled cavities, vacuum glazing units, closed cavity facades, and heat reflecting films. • Heat mirror films is a Solar Responsive Thermo chromic (SRT) adaptive glazing film which uses the sun’s energy to cause the tinting of the window, naturally controlling room temperatures. • Air-conditioning system is almost always defined by the glazed area and while dark tinted windows and reflective coatings are used to reduce the Solar Heat Gain Coefficient (SHGC) of windows. A SMART ENERGY MANAGEMENT AND CONTROL SYSTEM. VERTICAL TRANSPORTATION • Elevator System • Observation Elevators - 2 single-deck, 1,600 kg (24 persons) per deck - 2004 Guinness Record fastest elevators in the world with aerodynamic, with aerodynamic pressure controlled cabs, ascend at 1,010 m/min. • Passenger Elevators - 10 double-deck, 2,040 kg (31 persons) per deck shuttle elevators serving the transfer floors 24 double-deck, 1,350 kg (20 persons) per deck, for access within 6 sub-zones (4 in each sub- zone) - 3 single-deck (various capacities) • Service Elevators - 3 single-deck (2×2,040 kg, 1×4,800 kg) • Car Park Elevators - 6 single-deck, 1,600 kg to tower lobby VAC System • The VAC system consists of the chiller, the glycol chiller and the ice storage tank. • VAC System Operation - The chiller produces chilled water for night-time air conditioning. - The glycol chiller precools the glycol solution, which passes through the ice storage tank, to supply daytime air conditioning. - Variable Air Volume (VAV) boxes per floor. - Individual control provides ability to vary temperature and wind speed. - Separate 24-hour chilled water supply for computer rooms provided upon request. ENERGY EFFICIENT LUMINARS & LIGHTING CONTROLS LUMINORS • A review of public lighting was undertaken and resulted in the conversion to more energy efficient luminaires and lighting controls. By utilizing Energy Management and Control Systems (EMCS), building managers are able to adjust operating temperatures, modify chiller plant operating schedules and modify chilled water distribution according to actual tenant needs. These combined efforts have helped to rank TAIPEI 101 in the top 30% of high-rise office buildings as benchmarked by the U.S. ENERGY STAR database, to reduce energy consumption by 33.41 million kWh per year and to save more than US$2 million per year. RAIN WATER HARVESTING • Rainwater system was set to collect rainwater from exposed terrace above 34th floor into rainwater collection pool on B5, after filtering in sand filter tank; such rainwater will be stored in rainwater reservoir and be pumped to the parterre irrigation system in each area. WATER PIPING PLAN ON EACH FLOOR RAIN WATER STORAGE TANK • Rain water storage plan at the basement level . • It is located on side of the podium that is the mall sector. RECYCLING OF WATER • Storage and treatment of rain water and waste water . • This process saves the water needs upto 20 to 30 perc. need Per year • The introduction of low-flow water fixtures together with dedicated water management systems effectively reduced water usage without jeopardizing tenant satisfaction. • This design ideology helped TAIPEI 101 to decrease potable water usage by at least 30% compared to average building consumption, saving about 28,000,000 liters of potable water annually INCREASING GREENERY AND LANDSCAPING • Because of the limited space for landscaping on site, the team felt it was important to implement sustainable landscaping practices in the city in order to achieve the overall sustainability goal of the project. • As part of its building management initiatives, it adopted part of the Zhong Qiang Park to restore and protect habitats that allow native flora and fauna to flourish. CONCLUSION • Energy and Atmosphere (EA) • Material and Resources (MR) -Over 30% better in energy -Waste management program recycle performance than average building rate up to 71% -Monitoring and recording 40% of -Low-mercury and no-mercury lamp total energy usage Water Efficiency fixtures (WE) • Indoor Environment Quality (IEQ) -Decrease potable water usage by 30% -Utilizes CRI* approved vacuum -625 SM of on-site landscape uses cleaners for better cleaning efficiency 100% rainwater and healthier environment, an average score of 1.61 Orderly Spotlessness. • Sustainable Site (SS) -Over 65% of tenant occupied space -All parking spaces are in basement enjoy exterior view -Smoke free and -84% building occupiers take public applies high levels of outdoor filtered transportation to work every day. 26 air
