Project Title – HUL Pureit Water Purifier

 Hindustan Unilever Limited (HUL) is one of
the largest consumer goods companies of
India. HUL is owned by the British-Dutch
company Unilever which controls 67%
majority stake in HUL. The major products
of HUL include foods and health, beverages,
cleaning agents and personal care products.
 Vision
Unilever is committed to supporting sustainability and
providing our consumers around the world with the products
they need to look good, feel good and get more out of life.

 Mission

Our mission is to add vitality to life. We meet everyday needs


for nutrition, hygiene and personal care with brands that help
people feel good, look good and get more out of life.
HUL Water Purifier “pure it”

Pure-it is the worlds most advanced in home


water purifier. Pure-it, a breakthrough
offering of Hindustan Unilever (HUL),
provides complete protection from all
water-borne diseases, unmatched
convenience and affordability.
 I had covered the Retail Market & HORECA of
Indore.

 My team and I covered 40 retailer's in Indore


region.
 Door To Door Selling.

 Industries and slum areas.

 Doctors Clinics and hospitals.


 It includes reaching to customers house or
its residents and promoting our product
by giving offers and discounts with giving
them full details about the product.
 Mainly we push our products to them by
giving Leaflets, Pam plates and Broachers.
 It includes Bulk dealing of water purifiers to
industries and there workers, because in
industrial areas there has been poor quality
of water and contamination level is very
high with more TDS in water making it
more harmful to drink because of metals
and in toxic substance dissolved in water.
 With safe drinking water crates better health
with no issues to life. Offering our products
at least cost and more offering to doctors and
hospitals with more advanced technology
products so that it can lead no health
problems with no need of boiling, electricity
and no maintenance required and assured
claims and certifications
Strength
 Hul has more than 100 million customers. It is
the largest FMCG company in India, and put a
step forward to the water purifier industry by
including Pureit.

 It is the 4th largest FMCG Company in the


world.
 Hul has stopped door to door selling from
2009 which going to to be a biggest
weakness for the company and newly
introduced market strategy fot Pureit not
working effectively.
 Dissatisfaction among customers due to lack
of service.
 Hul Pureit is going to make available their product
in rural areas in India by spreading there
distribution channels which going to help to get
more consumers because the quality of drinking
water is not good.
 Rising income level i.e. increase there purchasing
power of customers that will help to boosting there
high range products.
 Lower domestic market with more population of
median age 25.
 Quickly changing the global industry can be
matter of threat for Hul in India.
 Competitors like Eureka Forbes and Kent are
brining their new products with more promotion
and advertisement and personal selling and
providing different variants like :RO, UV, UF, MF,
TDS meter, and more storage facility.
 Pressure from substitute product like packaged
drinking water, municipal supplies, etc.
 Buyer switching suppliers based on prices and
value added services.
 I have learned about various market issue and
how to handle those issues.

 I also get to know about the margins of the


products.

 Time punctuality.
 As a conclusion I found that particularly in my
provided area Indore Pureit is really doing well
and its performance is on surprising level with
covering doing 70% sales on Gravity based water
purifiers like its Advanced and Classic model and
RO and UC sales at 15% totally,

 During the fieldwork and after intensive study and


with door to door selling and it was found that
main competitor of Pureit is Aqua guard (Eureka
forbs Ltd). According to my findings, I found that
Pureit is the market leader in followed by
Hindustan Unilever Ltd.
