MAN TRUSTES GOD

FAITH
• One of the most important statements in the
Bible simply says. "But without faith it is
impossible to please GOD" (Hebrews 11: 6)
IMPORTANCE OF FAITH
• Explain the importance of faith in the Christian life.
• The only way to receive the wonderful provision of salvation made by GOD is to accept it by
faith. The eternal treasures provided for us by the sovereign grace of GOD are available to us only by
faith.
• Each one of these texts tells us what faith can achieve.
• Ephesians 2: 8 Romans 5: 1
• Acts 26:18 compare Acts 15: 9
• 1 Peter 1: 5 1 John 5.4 Romans 11:20
• James 5:15: Acts 14: 9
• Galatians 3: 2, 5:14
• Romans 4: 18-22 Mark 9:23
• Hebrews 11: 6
• Matthew 15:28
• Mark 2: 3-5
We observe, then, that not only our experience of salvation depends on the exercise of faith, but on
every aspect of our Christian life. Our actions, to a large extent, are determined by what we
believe. We believe that GOD knows everything we say, do and think; therefore, we try to do
everything that GOD likes.
1-1.-THE RELATIONSHIP OF FAITH WITH REPENTANCE FR

• Recognize the differences between repentance and faith in the process of
conversion.
• The act of repentance begins with a chain reaction. But the salvation event that I
have started, which includes the aspects of repentance and faith (and other
aspects of salvation), is of such importance that we will try to study these
aspects that occur at the same time. But for the study of each aspect to be more
convenient, we have adopted the following order:
• Repentance, faith, conversion, regeneration, justification
and adoption.
THE NATURE OF FAITH AND DEFINITION OF FAITH FR

• Recognize the basic biblical meaning of the word faith.

• For purposes of our study, we will define faith as the voluntary act and attitude of a person by
which he places his total trust in an object, allowing it to govern his actions, in the spiritual
plane that object in which he trusts is GOD same, and the voluntary act is carried out by
hearing and believing the word of GOD.
• Faith is both belief and trust. In the Old Testament the term believe is used to translate the
Hebrew word meaning " to build or support, make firm or faithful, trust" in the New
Testament is used to translate the Greek word that means " to have faith or trust, put l to
trust in, commit " or another Greek word that means" agree, or rest in, be persuaded, have
confidence in, as we will study in detail, believe, when addressing GOD or Christ as the object
of faith, includes three factors;
• a) To be in agreement with the truth that He says or reveals,
• b) Receive and trust him personally,
• c) Commit oneself to obey Him,
.-TYPES OF FAITH. FR
• Faith can be described in many ways. Although we normally consider faith in relation to the spiritual
experience, we will see some kinds of faith.
• 1) Non-religious faith. With this faith we are very familiar, for example, we believe in our electrical
systems, so we oppress switches and turn on the lights, we have faith in our traffic systems, so we
drive at high speeds towards other cars that come on highways where the only thing that separates us
from them is a white line painted on the floor. We have faith in our banking systems, so we deposit
money in banks, we fly in an airplane because we have faith in the aeronautical systems and in the skill
of the pilots. Non-religious faith is evident daily in these examples and in many others.
• 2) Intellectual faith . Under this faith you can believe something about Christ. But not in Him, many
believe that GOD exists, but that mental approval does not lead them to salvation, others believe
that the Bible is the word of GOD, but they never read it or commit to follow its teachings. Intellectual
faith lacks a factor of vital importance: action. James 2:18 describes this kind of faith in a very vivid
language.
• 3) The living faith . This is the most important and complete kind of faith, it is the opposite of the
inactive or dead faith, the living faith is the result of our saving faith and refers to the active, obedient
commitment of our lives to Christ and his purposes. By living faith, we rest in the power of the Spirit
that dwells in us to give us daily strength, St. Paul describes this kind of faith in Galatians 2:20.
