WHAT IS AEROBICS ?

AEROBICS

•It is a system of exercises


done with accompanying
music. Aerobic exercises
improve cardiovascular
fitness, respiratory capacity,
and muscular endurance.
• They can also lower blood
pressure and cholesterol levels.
They enhance the ability of the
body to move in air into and
out of the lungs and boost the
flow of blood to all parts of the
body.

• There are many aerobic


exercises that qualify for an
effective aerobics program.
These include brisk walking ,
running, swimming, hiking,
dancing, roller skating and
kickboxing .
• You can add zumba and
almost any other activity that
will pump up your heart rate to
the level where, over a
sustained period of time,
beneficial changes can take
place in your cardiovascular
system.
BASIC PRINCIPLE OF BALANCE

• This principle encourages the


right combination of proper
diet, regular exercise, and
healthy lifestyle to attain well-
being .
DIET

• Diet plays a crucial role in achieving


and sustaining health and fitness.
Exercise , rest and vitamins and
supplements will not do you much
good in your effort to develop a
healthy body without proper diet. In
fact, without proper nutrition, you may
not even have the energy to
participate in a regular exercise
program.
• The condition of your body
and the effectiveness of your
workouts are directly related to
the quality and quantity of the
food that you take.
CALORIE BALANCE

• It is the balance between the


calories from the food and
drinks that you ingest (
CALORIE IN ) and the calories
that burn through basic body
functions and exercises (
CALORIE OUT ) .
• Eating habits play a very
important role in the quality of
your life. Food is a source of
nutrients at the same time can
be a source of happiness and
pleasure.

helps make and keep the
body healthy and fit. It also
helps lower the risk of
developing diet- related
chronic degenerative
diseases as you age.
HYDRATION

•It is another essential factor


in keeping the body fit and
heathy while preventing the
development of kidney
stones and bowel cancers.
• The lack or loss of fluids in the body
causes dehydration , which stresses
the heart and blood vessels. Severe
dehydration or when water losses are
more than two percent od body
weight, can increase the pulse rate
and the body temperature , resulting
in fatigue, apathy and decreased
performance.
•A fluid intake of two liters or
eight glasses daily is
recommended to keep the
body functioning efficiently
.
OVERLOAD PRINCIPLE

• It means that the body will


adjust to the weight that is
place on it. During physical
activities the heart beats fasts,
the lungs work harder , and the
muscles take on more strain
than they usually do.
REST AND RECOVERY

• It helps the body reach its optimal


level of development and
performance .
• Rest enables the body to repair and
strengthen itself .
• One way to achieve rest is through
good sleep, which promotes physical
and mental health , including
hormonal balance.
