TVET Advisory Forum


• Sindh TEVTA constituted a TVET Advisory Forum in 2017 to provide strategic guidance and
advisory support to TVET reform initiatives in Sindh.
• Under AF, a Joint Secretariat (JS) is notified comprising of key stakeholders (STEVTA,
Enterprises, training providers and Business Industry and Associations).
• Established different Technical Working Groups (TWG) for:
• Capacity Development of QABs’
• Operationalization of Institute Management Committee's
• CBT& A Implementation, etc

Institute Management Committee – Industrial Coordination

The improve the governance at institute level, Sindh TEVTA established Institute
Management Committees. The objectives of Institute Management Committee’s are to:
– Provide guidance and oversee institutional strategic decision making.
– Develop annual training plans and assess overall institutional performance.
– Establish linkages with local industry and ascertain skilled workforce requirement.
– Review and approve the institutional budget and identify potential resources for qualitative training.
– Monitor staff, faculty performance and their professional development.
– Facilitate placement of trainees in the industry for on-the-job trainings.
– Facilitate placement of Instructional staff for skill up-gradation and exposure to innovative
technology.
– Report on quarterly & annual basis on the institutional performance and gaps for remedial steps by
Sindh TEVTA

Training Fund for STEVTA Institutions

The Sindh TEVTA in collaboration with TVET Sector Support Programme signed following financing
agreements FY 2017-18 to implement TVET Capacity Development & Employment Project in

NVQF Support Unit, STEVTA

The Sindh TEVTA is signed a Special Financing Agreement to implement project title “Enhancing
Quality Relevance and Equity of Technical and Vocational Education & Training (TVET)
through imparting demand based workplace based training in Sindh” with TVET Sector
Support Programme. The target is 1260 trainees to be trained on market driven training programs.
The following are the key features of project.

Establishment of Center of Excellence

Sindh TEVTA in collaboration with NAVTTC identified a institute i.e. Vocational Training Center,
Kotri to be upgraded as Center of Excellence.

The main objective is that, CoE would cater for students and staff training needs required to
acquire and deliver competency based trainings.

Therefore;
• The students will be enabled to complete the NVQs (National Vocational Qualification) in an
appropriate CBT&A (Competency Based Training & Assessment) environment
• TVET staff (trainers/assessors) will be upgraded in technical skills needed to deliver CBT &A
programs
• TVET management staff (principals/managers) will be upgraded to manage holistic
management of CBT & A

CBT&A Implementation

– Sindh TEVTA is implementing CBT&A in more than 40 institutes in 25


National Vocational Qualifications.
– Sindh TEVTA graduated more than 1200 trainees through CBT
approach.
– Sindh TEVTA conducted CBT assessment of 3000 trainees in Sindh
– STEVTA is going to start implementations of 16 NVQs in 09 institutes
with up-gradation of labs.
– Sindh TEVTA is planning to launch Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)
in 29 institutes across Sindh province
