The natural agent that stimulates sight and makes things visible is known as
light.
Primary source
• Sun
Secondary sources
• Fire
• Candles
• Flash light
• Incandescent Lamp
• Energy Efficient lamps(energy saver, LED)
The first lamps used by early humans date back to 70.000BC
Oil lamps were the most widespread method of illumination until
the end of the 18th century.
In the 19th century new energy sources were discovered and new
kinds of lamps were invented.
Today, we produce many kinds of lamps with various materials,
power sources, color of lights and for different usage.
1783: Oil Lamps were invented.
1784:Coal gas was first use as lighting fuel.
1801: Sir Humphrey Davy invented the first electric carbon arc lamp.
1870: Sir Joseph Swann and Thomas Edison both invented the first electric
incandescent lamps.
1879: Charles F. Brush invented the carbon arc street lamp
1901 Peter Cooper Hewitt patented the mercury vapor lamp.
1911: Georges Claude of France invented the neon lamp
1915: Irving Langmuir invented an electric gas-filled tungsten lamp.
1927: Friedrich Meyer, Hans Spanner, and Edmund Germer patented a fluorescent
lamp.
1960: Light-emitting diode(LED) was introduced.
Energy-savings are getting
more and more important
in recent years, since both
global warming and
energy reduction are
getting more and more
serious. Light-emitting
diode (LED) is a very
essential application for
energy-savings nowadays.

Like other developing
countries, consumption and
usage of electric goods such
as televisions, lighting,
refrigerators and air
conditioners has increased
in Pakistan.
In this regard, Lighting
Pakistan is a program
arranged by IFC – a member
of the World Bank Group,
and the largest global
development institution
focused exclusively on the
private sector.

LED Package Manufacturers
Import Branded LED
Import Accessories from China
The increasing market of LED lighting has attracted numerous companies to enter. The
improvements in technology also helped to reduce the producing cost while
enhancing the efficiency and operational life time of LEDs. These factors have thus led
to fierce competition between LED lighting manufacturers, resulting in a dramatic
price drop of LED lighting products in the past few years. The falling prices have
eroded the margin of industry players.
Incandescent bulbs are being phased out in several regions such as Europe, U.S. and
China. As LED lamps are more efficient in terms of energy consumption and provide
high luminous intensity, countries are focusing on energy saving solutions.
The significant factors impacting the LED lighting market include increase in
government focus on energy saving solutions, increase in utility rebates and growing
display and large screen backlighting market. These are the factors that drive the
growth of the market.
The push to simplify technology
and increase both efficiency and
practical application has led to a
number of fantastic innovations
in home lighting. In future we will
see LED bulbs controlled via Wi-Fi
and smartphones apps, giving
home owners instant access to
their home lights wherever they
had an internet connection
Market
A massive $100 billion market that already exists
Lighting market will increasingly look, feel and operate like the information
technology industry
Lighting industry must start to view the world as a commercial whole,
creating a global supply chain.
LED prices will continue to decline until there's a thriving, global mass
market

Consumer
Energy-efficient light bulbs can be used to replace almost any incandescent
bulb
LED light bulbs don't break as easily as incandescent bulbs
