- Events denote and exhibit power and reputation.

- Events provide avenues for people to influence


public opinion belief and perception.

- This also provides a forum for civic celebrations,


recognize accomplishments and reinforce traditions.

- Events provide employment and play an important


role in the financial growth and success of a
community.

- Through events, certain places attract more


tourists which can generate income for the locals.

- Events can influence spending and can provide


funds to differents charities.

place, to carry out a particular
activities.

1. LEISURE EVENTS

sports ground, recreation centers,
parks and entertainment venues.

celebration or festival, sporting
contest or concert.
2. CULTURAL EVENTS
A. It enriches and promotes cultural
standing of the city which they are held.
Cultural events team create unique festivals,
unexpected arts, accessible entertainment
and the like.

3. PERSONAL EVENTS

and ritual to satisfy needs”
2. Shone (2001) “Special events are the
phenomenon arising from those non-routine which
have leisure, cultural, personal or organization
objectives set apart from the normal activity if daily
life, whose purpose to enlighten l, celebrate,
entertain or challenge the experience of a group of
people”
3. Donald Getz (1997) “To the customer a special
event is an opportunity for a leisure, social or
culture experience outside the normal range of
choices or beyond everyday experiences”

Planner

• Event managers and event planners are two


different functions but they are very closely
related. The key difference lies in this two words:
management planning wherein event managers,
manage the event and the event planners are
plan the event.
