INTRODUCTION
• Training is the planned programme
designed to improve knowledge and
skills and bring about measureable
changes in knowledge, skills , attitude
and social behavior of employees. It
also imparts the ability to detect and
correct error(s).

PURPOSE OF TRAINING
• To study the nature & method of
Training & Development programme.
• To study the level of satisfaction over
Training & Development programme.
• To study the effectiveness over the
Training & Development programme
of the employees.

SCOPE
• The project would be carried from 24th
May to 16th of July.
• The project has been carried out in all
major department of the organization.
• The data has been collected through
both Staff level to Manager Level.
• The data of the project are by the
present employees of the organization.

LIMITATION
• Findings of the study are solely based on the
information provided by the respondents.
• The accuracy of the findings is limited by the
accuracy of the statistical tool used for analysis.
• Area of the study is confined to the employees of
ONGC LTD- Hazira Plant only.
• Time factor can be considered as main limitation.
• The findings of the study are subjected to bias &
prejudice of the respondent.
• The findings of the research may change due to
area, demography, age, condition, etc.

METHODOLOGY
• Methodology: Simple Random Sampling
Techniques.
• Research Design: Descriptive Research Design.
• Data collection Method:
– Primary Data Collection Method: observation,
Interview, Survey- Questionnaire.
– Secondary Data Collection Method:
• reports, Magazine, Internet, Journals
• Sample Area: ONGC LTD. – Hazira Plant.
• Sample Size: 60

FINDINGS
• Majority of the employees feel that:
1. Training is given related to their job.
2. Training is given about advance technology/
management.
3. Results are monitored and evaluated.
4. Training identification is done after every period of time.
5. Employees are given time- off with their pay to attend
training programmes.
6. 50% of employees are satisfied with the existing training
and development programme.
7. 80% of the employees agrees that both internal & external
faculties are used for training & development
programmes.
8. Classrooms are most preferred & mentoring is most
appreciated. 7
CONCLUSION
• Training has played a very important role in helping
ONGC Ltd. to reach the commanding heights of
performance. Any training would be considered to
be successful only when the knowledge gained by
the participants is transferred to the job
performance. And ONGC Ltd. is been very
successful in doing that. 
• The training programmes have helped their
employees to improve their skill and efficiency as a
result of which they are able to undertake new
challenges in their work. The training and
development programmes held in ONGC Ltd.
helped their employees to know their strength and
weaknesses and helped them to work on their
weaknesses. 8
