Resource planning Management

 Resource planning is a process of allocating tasks to human and non-human resources in a


way that would maximize the efficiency of the resources. resource planning can also be a
process of allocating tasks to human and non-human resources in order to get an overview of
resource availability and capacity.
 An Effective resources plan helps answer the following questions:
 Do organization have resources enabling their strategies to be executed successfully?
 Are the strategies of the organization being shaped to capitalize on the expertise in the
resource area?
 What are the processes for allocating resources at corporate and business level?

Process of Resources Allocation

 Define the mission : In the first stage of resources allocation process, the organizational
mission should be defined. The mission statement defines the business in terms of products
and customers. It is used to determine how well current initiatives are aligned with the goals
of the organizations.

 Assess the current inventory of Resources : In the second stage of resources allocation
process, the current inventory of the resources should be assessed. The resources possessed
by an organization would be human resource, financial resource, intellectual resource and
information resource.

 Assess and acquire the required resources : Once the mission and current inventory of
the resources are clear, the next stage of resources allocation process is to determine the
required resources requirements, they should be acquired.

 Allocate the resources : Once the required resources are acquired, they should be allocated
to different businesses, units and activities which critically underpins the strategic capability
of the organization. Budgeting is a widely adopted technique of resources allocation.

 Decision-making is the process of identifying a set of feasible alternatives and choosing a


course of action from them. Decision-making is a part of planning.
 It is an intermediate-sized set of activities which begins with an identifying problem and ends
with choice making or decision giving.
 Management of Objectives (MBO) is a technique of a participative decision making.
 The MBO process involves:
a) Establishing and communicating organizational objectives.
b) Setting individual objectives.
c) Developing an action plan of activities needed to achieve the objectives.
d) Periodically reviewing performance.

 Strategy Implementation intends competitive advance which can be achieved through


enhance customer satisfaction.
 A system of management based on the principle that every member of staff must be
committed to maintaining high standards of work in every aspect of a company's operations .
 Total Quality management (TQM) is an operational philosophy committed to customer
satisfaction and continuous improvement.
 TQM has four objectives :
a) Better quality of the product and services.
b) Quicker response to customers’ needs.
c) Greater flexibility to customers’ requirements.
d) Lower cost through quality improvement & elimination of non-value-adding work.

 Strategy implementation requires establishment and use of information, communication, and

 They enables people to carry out their roles successfully and effectively.

 Information technology is advancing rapidly.

 E-commerce is a vital tool for strategy implementation.
