INTRODUCTION
 The company does its CSR activities as per the Schedule VII of
Companies Act, 2013.
 Under Schedule VII it focuses on:
a) Livelihood enhancement projects
b) Ensuring environmental sustainability
c) Promoting education
d) Healthcare
 Various projects undertaken by the company are Godrej Memorial
Hospital (GMH) , HEROES AIDS PROJECT, TEACH FOR INDIA
and GOOD AND GREEN.

ACTIVITIES
1. SMILE TRAIN: Godrej Memorial hospital along with American based
NGO- SMILE TRAIN conducts a program to treat children from low
income families born with Cleft lip.
2. Mangroves: The company owns and takes care of the largest privately
managed belt of mangroves in Mumbai. It is supported by the Soonabai
Pirojsha Godrej Foundation. It is the first area to formally adopt ISO
14001 standards for Environment Management System.
3. Godrej Disha: It is a skill training program for the unprivileged rural
and urban youth. The course started as a gender equality initiative with the
vision to encourage more women in manufacturing sector.
STAKEHOLDERS OF CSR ACTIVITIES

Stakeholders are the individuals or groups that have an interest in the


organization and are affected by its actions.
The two group of stakeholders are:
1. Primary stakeholders- employees and their families, customers,
shareholders, suppliers, board of directors, people of the area where
the company is located.
2. Secondary stakeholders- government, media, NGOs, political groups,
social groups, regulation agencies, society at general.
EXPENDITURE ON CSR ACTIVITIES

 The corporate social responsibility was made mandatory from April 1,


2014.
 During the financial year 2014, Goodrej had spend 4.51 crores which
rose to 16.08 crores in 2015 showing a growth rate of 256.5%.
 The Godrej group doubled the number of CSR project from 7 to 15 in
2016. It spent a total of 14.57 crore on CSR activities in 2016.
 Since then the expenditure has increased and it is more than 2% of the
company’s overall profit. 24% of the shares of the company are held in
trusts like Pirojsha Godrej foundation, the Soonabai Pirojsha Godrej
foundation which contributes for the CSR activities of the company.
RECOMMENDATIONS

 Godrej should do CSR in the field of SPORTS. They can provide some
fund or a share of their profit for the sports education of physically
disabled people
 Godrej supports LGBT community and organises various events
awareness of the same. But they need to take initiative for providing job
opportunities to them.
 They can donate a part of their profit from every pack of goodnight
purchased for medications of dengue and malaria.
