What is Zynq?

Defining features of Zynq

Xilinx named it zynq
It combines dual core
because it can take
A9 Arm cortex processor
part in any hardware
Capable of running full
system just same as
OS like Linux
does the zynq(metal)
Standard AXI interface,
in any chemical
which provides high
reaction. (According
bandwidth, low latency
to rumours)
between two devices
System on chip(SoC) with zynq

But wait, what is SoC?

Implication is that a single silicon chip can be used to

implement entire system, rather than requiring different chips
for different function (not following the more the merrier)

SoC can combine all aspects of digital system: interfacing,

processing, high speed logic, memory and so on
Why SoC over ASIC?

SoC ASIC
Lower cost Development time
Faster and secure and cost
data system Lack of flexibility
Higher overall system The non-recurring
speed engineering effort and
Lower power cost
consumption Suitable for high
Smaller physical size volume market having
Better reliability no future updates
Comparison between system on board(left) and system
on chip(right)
Zynq high level of architecture

Mainly contains : PS and PL

PS(Processing system) PL(Programmable

Formed around dual logic)
core ARM Cortex-A9 Tantamount to FPGA
Processor Ideal for high-speed
Supports software logic, dataflow and
routine and operating arithmetic subsystem

First step is define desired behaviour of system

Next step will be partition the functionality between

hardware and software

Next step will be development of hardware and

software parallel

Final step will be testing of the whole system
