Requirements

❑ 6 hours of service hours


❏ Pick up service forms from Ms. Juzwik or on NHS
bulletin board (blue envelope)
❏ Need a signature from supervisor
❑ 2 minor service projects (your choice)
❑ 1 major service project
❑ Attend 75% of meetings
Major Projects

1. Giving Tree
2. Fit-A-Thon
3. Blood Drive
❑ You have to be involved in one of these
❑ Rank Majors in order of preference
❑ **ADD NOTE if you cannot attend one for any reason
Minor Projects

❑ Can be any sort of volunteering


❏ They can’t count for silver cord or your NHS
hours
Volunteer Opportunities

You will need 6 hours

No “double dipping” - Hours you choose for the volunteering


requirement cannot be used to fill your two minor
requirements. These are seperate! :)

❑ Facebook is not a method for contacting Ms. Juzwik or officers, use REMIND.
❑ FB is still a public place to post and learn about volunteer opportunities, although better places
for these are: Ms. J’s website, NHS meetings & the bulletin board

highly encouraged
CHARITY PENNY WARS!!
Monday-Thursday of Homecoming week, NHS will be
running Penny Wars between the grades. Each grade will
be raising money for the charity of their class officers’
choice. We will be collecting money Monday, Tuesday, and
Thursday during lunch periods only, and all day
Wednesday. To sign up for a slot and start on your service
hours, go to Ms. Juzwiks website!
Penny Wars Charity Organizations

❑ Freshman-Little Free Food Pantry


❏ Works to take action against local food insecurity and offer a place for neighbors to
gather for both food and community bonding.

❑ Sophomores- Friends of Stewart Park


❏ Donations will help to preserve and maintain our very own community park. This park
offers trails to hike and many free recreational facilities for residents and people visiting.

❑ Juniors-Friends of State Street


❏ Works to give help and hope to Madison’s homeless by providing basic need services for
survival.

❑ Seniors- Amazon Conservation Association


❏ Protects over 4 million acres of Amazon rainforest, the largest forest on earth. Works to
restore and conserve the Amazon so that it may sustain the full diversity of life living
there.
WE NEED VOLUNTEERS!

Wars! This will be shown during STAT on Monday to help
advertise.
❏ This is super casual and can be something that
people put together after school for 5 minutes. Could
be as simple as throwing pennies at each other.
NEEDS TO BE DONE BY FRIDAY
