 Hyperloop is a proposed mode of passenger and freight transportation
that propels a pod-like vehicle through a near-vacuum tube at more
than airline speed.

 It is considered to be the 5th mode of transportation.

 The challenges to overcome difficulties of managing friction and air

resistance which becomes substantial when vehicles approach high
speeds.
 The concept of Hyperloop transportation was first
proposed by Elon Musk in 2012.
 It is heavily drawn from the concept of vactrain introduced
by Robert Goddard.
 Travelling people from one place to another place in a
capsule which is propelling at a very high speed (970-
1200 KMPH)
 Hyperloop is magnetically levitated train which runs
inside a long tube or pipe.
 Consists of low pressure tube with capsule that is
transported at both low
and high speeds.
 Driven by linear induction

motor and compressor.

 The pods would accelerate to cruising speed gradually
using a linear electric motor and glide above their track
using passive magnetic levitation or air bearings.

 For propulsion, magnetic accelerators will be planted

along the length of the tube, propelling the pods forward.
 The tubes would house a low pressure environment,
surrounding the pod with a cushion of air that permits the
pod to move safely at such high speeds.

 An air compressor on the front of the pod will move air

from the front to the tail, keeping it aloft and preventing
pressure building up due to air displacement.

 Capsule (pod)
 Compressor
 Air bearings
 Propulsions
 Electro Magnetic Suspensions
 Linear Induction Motor
 Asynchronous linear motor.
 Rotary motor is cut and unrolled to generate linear
motion instead of rotary motion.

 It is comprised of two parts, the primary and secondary.

 The speed of the motor can be varied by changing the
input frequency using an adjustable frequency drive.

 Unlike their rotary counterparts, they can give a levitation

effect, therefore often used where contactless force is
required, where low maintenance is desirable.
 Their practical uses includes magnetic levitation, linear
propulsion, and linear actuators.
 It is the magnetic levitation of an object achieved by
constantly altering the strength of a magnetic field
produced by electromagnets using a feedback loop.
 A paramagnetically magnetized body cannot rest in
stable equilibrium when placed in any combination of
gravitational and magnetostatic fields.

 In these kinds of fields an unstable equilibrium condition

exists.

 EMS works by continually altering the current sent to

electromagnets to change the strength of the magnetic
field and allows a stable levitation to occur.
 In EMS a feedback loop continuously adjusts one or more
electromagnets to correct the object's motion and is used to cancel the
instability.
 Use a combination of magnetic attraction and magnetic repulsion to
push upwards.
 It reduces energy consumption, largely obviating friction. It also
avoids wear and has very low maintenance requirements.
 It saves the travelling time.

 There is no problem of traffic.

 It is powered by the solar panel.

 It can travel in any kind of weather.

 Not disruptive to those along the route.

 More convenient.

 Resistance to earthquake.
