Chemical Delivery by Supplier (Tote Tank, Plastic Drum & Container)

■ All chemical are to be secured properly to prevent spillage & movement during
delivery
■ Container must be in good condition accompanied with class regulation labelling.
■ All door & chemical is to be secured after inspection at guard house /delivery area
■ All vehicles entering into the plant must be in a good condition (no oil leaks)
■ If found any leak, the vehicle will be prohibited from entering to Hartalega premise.

1. All contractors and their workers must observe the Safety and Health Regulation at all time.
2. Ensure all the equipment used at Hartalega for the maintenance and project job required to
be inspected and safe to be used (eg. Ladder with proper stopper & etc)
3. Eating and sleeping at work place is strictly prohibited.
4. Smoking is prohibited in the Plant and open area near to chemical, Oil and gas tanks.
Smoking is RESTRICTED TO THE CANTEEN area ONLY and Smoking in and around any
building of Hartalega is strictly prohibited . (Management of Hartalega Sdn. Bhd. will imposing a
penalty of RM 100.00 fine to the particular person and RM1000.00 to the company who are found
smoking in the non-designated area within the company's premises.)

4. Adhere to Safe work Permit and Hot Work Permit Requirement

5. Use of fire – fighting equipment is not authorized except during emergency cases.
Report all incidents, spills, near misses accidents to Env , Health Safety and related Dept.
6. No blocked passage ways including fire exits, fire fighting equipment, electrical appliance /
panel, and emergency call points.
7. Always cordoned off the area with hazard tape (Red and White) and post the danger
signage (Work in Progress etc)
8. Do not use compressed air to clean clothing or body.

• Environmental Issue
1. All chemicals brought into the premises must be declared to Env, Health & Safety Manager / Officer . The
Safety Data Sheet (SDS) of chemicals must be furnished in order bring them into the premises.
2. All waste should be properly identified, segregated and disposed on in accordance to the Environment
Quality Act (EQA). The contractor is responsible for obtaining approval from the DOE.
3. Disposal of hazardous waste must be done at the authorized as designated by the statutory requirement
sites.
4. Household waste must be segregated and must be disposed by the contractor at their own cost.
5. All contractors are responsible for the house keeping of the workplace / area after each job is completed.
RM 500 will be charged as first offence for not cleaning up the workplace within 24 hrs upon completion of
the project and followed by RM 1000 (for delay in cleaning up for more than 2 days) . Thus RM 1000 shall
be paid to HSB (Account Dept) as deposit for each project job being carried out which will be returned if
cleared the unwanted items within the time frame.
6. Cleanliness of worksite shall be maintained. Wherever possible, waste should be removed at the end of
each workday.
7. If there is any spillage are advisable to use spillage kit which is available at chemical storage area and shall
be reported to respective Supervisor / Executive whom responsible for the HWP / SWP .

Safety Equipments (Apparatus)

■ Every contract worker must be provided with the minimum safety apparatus as
listed below by contractor (including Suppliers and Transporters) and wearing
slipper is strictly not allowed.
1. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) must comply to Group PPE policy
1. Safety Helmet compliance to EN 397 or equivalent.
2. Safety Shoes EN 345
3. Safety Spectacle must be worn at all the time and comply EN 166
except at Rest Area and Office
4. Dust Musk / Respirator as per job requirement *
5. Ear Plug or Ear Muff *
6. Body Harness (Working at Height) *
7. Reflective Vest EN 471 (Orange / Red Colour)
8. Any other safety equipments or apparatus as may be required due to
the nature of work.*
