Beauty Cosmetics: Preference of

Home Economics Senior High


School Students at San Miguel
National High School
Importance of the Study
The importance of this study is to
determine the beauty cosmetics
preferences of Home Economics
students at SMNHS.
To find out if the trend
preference a student has in
terms of beauty cosmetics.
To have an idea and a
starting portion in
choosing the best
product that can fit to
their standards.
Scope and Delimitation
The study considers the
student's personal information
such as their name, monthly
allowance, age, section and
accessibility to cosmetics.
The researchers limited the
study to 55 female Home
Economics students enrolled
in the second semester of
School Year 2019-2020 of
San Miguel National High
School.
Each of the respondents was
given a questionnaire to
answer. The students selected
came from different sections
of Home Economics strand to
prevent bias and get
objective perceptions.

Review of Related Literature
 Narang (2013) found that attractiveness femininity,
and sexiness positively correlate with increasing
make up usage and internal traits affiliated with
social warmth and corporation likability, morality,
emotionally, and decisiveness either negatively or
do not correlate with increasing make up usage.
These cosmetics often use makes the women is
comparative to drugs for it not just pleases but also
make the women start to declare it as part of their
necessity.
As such, a study stated that it is
important to consider the
satisfactory level of the consumer
in determining the preferred
make up brand of the consumer,
and also the other influence is the
advertisements that the
consumers see on televisions or in
brochures (Yuvaraj, 2014).
Research Design
Survey research design for the
reason that it best helped to
answer the questions and the
purposes of the study. The design
was best since it enables to
collect the data from large
number of respondents through a
questionnaire.
The study aim to know the
different preference of Home
Economics Senior High School
students about Beauty
Cosmetics. This study utilize
descriptive method of
research.
Respondents of the Study
The target population for this
research defined to include Home
Economics Senior High School
students at San Miguel National High
School. Only female respondents will
be considered in the study.
Sampling Technique
The researchers will distribute
the questionnaires in different
section from Grade 11 and
Grade 12 TVL – Home
Economics which is HE – A to
HE – E.
Data Analysis
The researcher will use
descriptive statistics which are
used to summarize data in an
organized manner by describing
the relationship between
variables in a sample of
population.
The statistical mean or
average is used to derive the
central tendency of the data
from questionnaires. It is
determined by adding all the
data points in a population
and then dividing the total by
the number of points.
