When a message is concise, it is short but informative. Clarity and
conciseness prevents confusion on the listener’s part.

VARY YOUR TONE, PACE, AND VOLUME


This will enhance the communication. An angry voice means seriousness to a
group of a noisy students. Laughter shows happiness. Adjust your tone
depending on your listener. (child, group of adults)

USE GESTURES AND BODY LANGUAGE


Maintaining eye contact helps sustain the communication. Crossing your
arms can connote anger and disagreement.

APPLY PERSUADING AND NEGOTIATING TERMS


To provide both sides a win-win situation. To persuade your listener, back up
your points with logic, to disagree with him/her, show tactfulness to the
person while presenting your reason.

ENCOURAGE QUESTIONS
Note that asking questions is a way of clarifying things. It is even a
manifestation of openness to your listeners or audience and eventually
making the communication more open.

BE INTERESTING
When speaking to a small group, (team, committee, and the like) or to a large
audience present your audio-visual aids effectively and build a rapport with
your listener.
