Made from Hard-shell crabs cooked in semi-thick gravy with a tomato chilli base. The steamed crabs are partially cracked, then lightly stir-fried in a paste comprising of chilli sauce, ketchup and eggs. Despite its name, chilli crab is not all that spicy. Universal Studios Singapore is a theme park located within Resorts World Sentosa on Sentosa Island, Singapore. It features 28 rides, shows, and attractions in seven themed zones. It is the second Universal Studios theme park to open in Asia (Japan being the first), and the first in Southeast Asia.
Universal Studios Singapore has since attracted more than
2 million visitors in the 9 months from its opening. The park has been marketed by Universal Parks & Resorts as a "one-of-its-kind theme park in Asia" and promised that the park would be the only one of its kind in Southeast Asia for the next 30 years. The Night Safari is the world's first nocturnal zoo and is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Singapore.
The concept of a nocturnal park in Singapore was suggested in
the 1980s by the former executive chairman of the Singapore Zoo, Dr Ong Swee Law. Constructed at a cost of $63 million, the Night Safari was officially opened on 26 May 1994 and occupies 35 hectares.
The Night Safari currently houses over 900 animals representing
over 100 species of which 41% are threatened species. The Night Safari is managed by Wildlife Reserves Singapore, and about 1.3 million visitors visit the safari per year. Thailand is located in the middle of mainland Southeast Asia. It has a total size of 513,120 km2, which is the 50th largest in the world. The land border is 4,863 km (3,022 mi) long with Myanmar, Cambodia, Laos and Malaysia. This iconic bowl of steaming goodness is bold, aromatic and comes with a fairly strong spicy kick. Tom yum goong is created with quintessential Thai ingredients like lemongrass, chilli, galangal, kaffier lime leaves, shallots, fresh lime juice and plenty of fish sauce. Fresh prawns and mushrooms are added and coconut cream if you want the creamy version. Panang curry is a bit milder than its other curry counterparts in Thailand. It is for this reason that it remains a popular dish amongst tourists who are remaining in the spicy “safe zone.” Panang curry typically is served with shrimp, although vegetarian options are popular too. A floating market is a market where goods are sold from boats. Originating in times and places where water transport played an important role in daily life, most floating markets operating today mainly serve as tourist attractions, and are chiefly found in Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and India. Wat Phra Kaew, commonly known in English as the Temple of the Emerald Buddha and officially as Wat Phra Si Rattana Satsadaram, is regarded as the most sacred Buddhist temple in Thailand. The Emerald Buddha housed in the temple is a potent religio-political symbol and the palladium of Thailand. 15,007 km² • Batar daan- A popular dish of corn, mung beans, and pumpkin • Tapai- A fermented rice dish. People who love meat dishes, especially pork, love this dish, in which the boiled meat is cooled first and sliced thinly, before it is added to the white noodles and garnished with chopped spring onions and cilantro. Finally, a chicken or pork broth is poured over the steamed noodles and it is served hot to customers. Canh- is basically the name for Vietnamese soups, found in abundance throughout the streets of Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam. For instance, Vietnamese vegetable soup is called Canh Cải, where pork, chicken or beef make up the broth base and vegetables are added to a boil for a delicious, piping hot meal, paired with steamed, white rice. Julienned ginger is also added to the soup to add zest to the soup flavour, that is infused with meat and vegetables, mixed together. Blending both Vietnamese and European design elements, the architecture of the Khai Dinh Tomb in Hue has been described as Buddhist as well as Roman Gothic. Constructed in the 1920s, the tomb was commissioned by the Emperor of Vietnam as his own future tomb. The entrance of the complex leads to the Honour Courtyard, and then on to the main building called the Thien Dinh. Khai Dinh’s final resting spot is clearly marked by a bronze statue surrounded by beautiful murals. In Ho Chi Minh City, or Saigon, stands the stunning Notre Dame Cathedral. Built in the late 19th century, the cathedral is brick, neo-Romanesque and clearly influenced by European architecture of the same time period. In fact, many of the materials used in construction were imported directly from France. While the exterior is impressive, the interior is also worth exploring. Look for the surviving stained glass panels as well as carved tiles and a statue of the Virgin Mary.
