The SV-CPP substructure is an eight (8) legged steel jacket with skirt piles on the outer
legs. The substructure shall be launched install and supports a CPP topsides which shall
be float-over installed.

Pulling force required for this project
4x SJ850 Strand Jacks powered by 2x 380HPUs. 2xSJ850 Strand Jacks per 1xHPU. Strand Jack speed in this configuration approx.
20m/hr.
Shore Pull – Breakout & Pull Topside from fabrication location to -5m from Quay edge.
Pull distance 22m. Time to pull 1hrs
Loadout – Generally following day – Re-breakout and pull from -5m from Quay to final position on barge.
Pull distance 134m. Time to pull approx. 8hrs (this is dependant ballast flow rates)
Strand jacks capacity and datasheet to be used for this project.
ALE’s standard range of SJ850 Strand Jacks offer Safe Working Load capacities from 15 to 900 †† tonnes per jack, coupled with proven
standard operating speeds of up to 60 metres per hour with ALE’s diesel driven power packs.
Control systems can be as simple or sophisticated as the particular contract demands and range from local to fully remote, operating
single or multiple jack arrangements. The ALE Strand Jacking System comprises of:-
ALE to perform Loadout Ballast Analysis based on barge internal system only.
After initial analysis has been undertaken ALE will provide confirmation that
the internal system is adequate and that additional external system is not
required.
For Loadout Operation ALE will have stationed Ballast Engineer in Barge
control room to assist barge engineers with ballast operations.
ALE External Ballasting System - Pump data sheets and capacity
The backbone of ALE’s Ballasting System is two sizes of hydraulically driven, submersible sea water pumps. When coupled to the ALE
self-contained, diesel driven power pack produce flow delivery rates of 1,000 to 2,400 cu.m/hour. The 10PS unit is intended for
installation in barge tanks for de-ballasting operations, while the 24 PS is primarily designed as a
high capacity ballasting pump.
Ballast monitoring is via ALE’s in-house developed Ballast Data Monitoring Systems or BDMS.
The Windows based system uses accurate pressure sensors located in each ballast tank, various points around the
barge,
and on the quayside, all connected to a central computer interface.
The user is presented with a real time graphical image of the barge showing tank depths, draughts, and tidal
condition. A
barge hydrostatics database allows the tank readings to be converted to individual or collective ballasts, flow rates,
displacements, ullages or other data formats as the client or warranty surveyor requests.
